Engine bay looks good
Did they not supply any washers to put under those nuts...?
No, but they are single use lock nuts, like the originals.Did they not supply any washers to put under those nuts...?
I'm keeping my eye out for a Ford Racing oil separator but they seem to be sold out in most places.
I've also seen that Steeda are now offering a billet alu or anodised black coolant tank.... the magpie in me is very much attracted.
Unsure whether you mean the washers, lock nuts, strut brace or coolant tank!? Lol.
Well washers spread the load under a nut (and a spring washer used with a plain nut would be a locking device), the Nyloc nut is its own locking device so a plain washer is fine, the strut brace is designed to stiffen the front end up by connecting the two front suspension turrets together rigidly to reduce flex/movement and the coolant tank looks cool as st.
There's also less chance of it splitting along a seam like a plastic tank can and causing a leak.
All in my opinion...

Haha yeah I was a bit vague.Well washers spread the load under a nut (and a spring washer used with a plain nut would be a locking device), the Nyloc nut is its own locking device so a plain washer is fine, the strut brace is designed to stiffen the front end up by connecting the two front suspension turrets together rigidly to reduce flex/movement and the coolant tank looks cool as st.

I think I meant the oil separator. What's it do?!

Looks good, but how do you check the coolant level? Is there a sensor, or would you have to use a dipstick?I say this as someone who has caught HGF and water pump leaks early by glancing at the coolant level. This on a Rover 200 and Peugeot 206, but I also know of one guy who spotted low coolant on his Focus Ecoboost just in the nick of time. He was showing his dad around his new P&J when he spotted it, narrowly saved himself ~5k to replace a scrap engine.
I wouldn't put all my trust in a sensor either..

I assumed that was a sight glass, of sorts, on the L/H/S...?I say this as someone who has caught HGF and water pump leaks early by glancing at the coolant level. You're right, it is, and it's optionalhttp://www.proalloy.co.uk/cgi-bin/sitewise.pl?act=...
I had considered that was a sight glass, but discounted the thought as it doesn't look well suited to the job.
I call bling over function. I wonder if it weighs more than the OE item?
The gas struts and strut brace on the other hand, I can see the point of those.
