How squishy are those bits at the side?
Very!

The Cactus is a funny car.

It does the innovative stuff very, very well.

But some of the normal car stuff lets it down somewhat. Lack of any physical HVAC controls is unforgivable IMO.

This one has got the 82bhp NA 3-cylinder engine, which is fine for city work but struggles hugely at anything above 50mph.

Economical though, this one has averaged 45mpg over the last 11k km, despite being a rental.
No HVAC? How do you operate those systems?

I like it in a weird way. Are modern Citroen's reliable?
Sadly not

Via the touchscreen, and it doesn't even have the best UI, sadly.
That sounds utter st laugh

Has it been doing this since the install?

Is it more noticeable when it is cold on initial startup?

I sense an mgw race spec is about hurt your wallet. Just let it happen.

Things like engine/transmission mounts shouldn't be messed with unless you're making considerably more power than standard, IMHO. OEM's know best and stiffer/beefier mounts that are so common in the American aftermarket scene don't mean better.

Looking good.

Can I ask where you got the mustang sticker, that's visible in your rear quarterlight?

Also, did you put on the red vinyl light stickers to the rear lights?

That was a quick reply, even before I'd finished editing my post.

I quite like that sticker, and I've been looking for something similar on ebay and amazon but with no luck.

Thanks for the offer.

I'm happy to pay for a sticker. Do the club sell them to non members as well? I've had a look at the club website but couldn't find any links to a club shop. My dutch is non-existent but Google translate was useful with this.

My GT arrived in the UK 2 weeks ago and I'll be picking it up from the dealer on 1 March, due to the new 17 reg plates being released that day. I've already seen it at the dealers compound and can't wait to get my hands on it.

I've already got a few mods in mind, one of which being the Diode Dynamics side marker lights like you have.

I'm also thinking of changing the deck lid, as I'd prefer to remove the bulky GT logo and replace it with either the flat GT lettering or the pony logo, as found on the ecoboost model.

I'm also keeping an eye out for possible mods to the headlights and rear lights to make them sequential, like the standard US models. I know Diode Dynamics have various products for this but they are not compatible with the EU models.

Did you measure the wheel gap before and after? Just curious to see how much exactly it dropped by. My bilstein B12's are on the way and apparently 1 inch drop is not enough to warrant camber plates or a bumpersteer kit.

Do you know if those eibachs are the pro kit or sport line?

Those spacers use nuts to hold them onto the hub and then the threads on the spacer attach the wheel, is that right?

Wouldn't that cause massive stress on the original threads?

Years ago I had something similar on a Ford Capri and it snapped half of the studs.

It does look great though.

That looks awesome now: perfect fit with the height and spacers.

Both look good to me. What does it do for the ride and handling?

Thanks for the reply.
I am very much in two minds as to whether to make any mods at all beyond replacing the Pirelli P Zeroes; for me it is definitely fast enough (although I suppose I may change my mind when I get more used to it and the weather improves), but the lower and slightly wider look just seems very cool, especially in this colour (same as mine) and I am tempted!

Great thread - just read it all.

Helps that it's the exact spec I would order: Magnetic, Saddle, 5.0, Manual, no custom pack. I was very close to ordering when they first came out, to the extent that I spoke a couple of times to the Ford UK Product manager for mustang re delivery dates etc. In the end, didn't go ahead... but still want one.

Really good to see the day-to-day "living with it", the mods (spacers look spot on), and when anyone posts a video clip of the noise, well, it would frighten my kids (Roush exhaust!! lick )

The only thing I really don't like (sorry, and it's one of things that made me stall a lot when thinking about ordering) is the wheels. I just don't like black wheels (and even when silver there's too many spokes / they look too fussy). I'd have to get some aftermarket wheels, like Velgen, but then the modding starts and where does it stop...?

Thanks for posting the thread and the updates - a good read beer

When you had the springs installed were there any issues with the strut mounts?

I just took my struts off and the factory mounts separated making a Bess of the bearings that sit in the race. I have put them all back in and it's impossible to seat the top part back on.

I'm probably going to get the steeda heavy duty mounts at this point.

Looking good especially with those spacers thumbup

Can you do anything with your front numberplate holder? The white writing on there looks bleugh to me. Having said that I am envious of your small format plates, I want them on my MX5 but it is a bit of a kerfuffle to change the documents and I am told with authority that the Politie take a dim view of small plates without accompanying codes on the Kentekenbewijs.

What does it sound like inside the car? Sounds great on the outside, but does the sound insulation hide the (fantastic) noise? frown
