That's great MPG figure!

In my 07 D5 185 (euro 4) I get between 42 - 47mpg sitting at 65 on the motorway with cruise.

What's the actual calculated brim to brim figure? These always differ from the obc ones.

Is this a 4 cylinder or 5 cylinder engine? Diesel? Forgive, too hungover to check things out for myself!

5 cylinders. Very nice for a diesel engine.

Just bought my dad a 2.0T SE S60, really impressed with the seats and for him, coming from a knackered MGF it's fantastic! It's a 2005 so hopefully avoids some issues with the earlier ones. I fancy changing the ATF and have a kit on the way from some Volvo specialist in the US- IPD or something. Nice cars, interior a bit plasticky but the stereo is good and it drives well.

Will keep an eye on your progress!

ETA- we have brake shoes on the way too, a little bit of effort to avoid some big potential bills...

Volvo has cost me money...

£2.99 for a pair of rear number plate bulbs! Plastic housings were both incredibly brittle so required some superglue to put them back together.

Can anyone advise on headlight positions? The switch has "0" and then a dipped bulb light ... Both seem to do the same? I leave mine on all the time regardless

Edit: I've also just ordered a Bluetooth equipped GROM unit. Not sure if I can swing the DIY install!

Lights are on all the time, regardless if you choose 0 or the other one. You can switch them down to sidelights only if you like.

Think of it as daytime running lights.

Did you do a brim to brim calculation?

And if it's anything like my XC60 there is no lights-on warning chime when you turn the car off. It's annoying.

Why is it annoying? The lights stay in and go off with the ignition.

I leave mine "on" all the time and don't get any warning bings or bongs.

My Bluetooth GROM unit has turned up today so over the weekend I'll try and get it plumbed in.

Nice S60 OP! I have a Euro 4 185 Manual D5 for my daily 90 mile commute and it is a great tool for the job. Over the last 6300 miles ive recored the mpg brim to brim using an app and it has returned 46.4mpg, pretty good in my opinion. I found out yesterday when getting new tyres fitted that the tracking is way out so hopefully this will improve too!

Nope. If you need high beam you have to select the lights on, call it switch position 2, position 1 being side lights. When you turn the ignition off the lights remain on and there is no warning chime.

The lights only extinguish with the ignition if they are left in the off position and then high beam is unable to be selected on.

I think I must have bought the only "bad" s60 on the market - The in tank fuel pump went , along with the dash. It spent more time as a driveway ornament than using it. Was glad to see the back of it! That said, when it was working , it was a nice drive!

Well the GROM is in.

My misspent youth down halfords car park was brought flooding back fighting various bit of interior trim to hide cables and pull the head unit out etc.

Seems to be a good bit of kit albeit I've only used it sat on the drive to check it works.

I leave my lights in "on" I.e position 2 and they turn on and off with the ignition?

Next up is to tackle the wayward handling... And if I can find one for a sensible price a remap. I'd like an MTE one but begrudge shelling out £400+ on a car worth not a huge amount
