Early morning commuter car hunting..Volvo S60 D5?

So after much f*****g about my previous mechanic letting me down constantly I've finally managed to achieve 4 wheels holding pressure today.
... by having to pay someone else to do it.
This is apparently what a tyre fitter tells me is shoddy work. He tells me that merely smearing a bit of tyre seal over the outside lip does not constitute doing a proper job.
On a plus side I've decided I like these wheels so will start saving change for a proper refurb... because he also managed to damage all the outside lips.
So out of pocket, annoyed... but lessons learnt

Currently doing very little mileage as getting the train to work at the moment. Yes it's noticeably stiffer now I've "ruined" it but it's still a million times more comfortable than my previous s-line A4
Hoping someone can shed some light on a niggle I have.
At around 1500rpm I get an almost minuscule stutter from it when going from little to mid throttle. My gut is telling me another weepy injector as I know the fuel filter was done on its last service.
It's being lined up for some big journeys in the next few weeks up and down the country and then potentially a ski trip later in the year and a wedding in Spain!

Looking for advice now...
My minor stutter has turned into a noticeable nigh on shudder when on a light throttle. Also when at WOT (such as accelerating hard down a slip road) generates a decent plume of black smoke.
Intercooler? Injector? Volvo aids? New fuel filter blocked already?
