Spotted a 2016 focus rs in nottinghamshire earlier, didn't even realise customer cars were out yet! Looked absolutely stunning in nitrous blue. great road presence, easily the coolest car i've seen in a while. hope to see a few more of them around, the best looking modern hot hatch in my opinion.

Customer cars have been rocking around for a few weeks now.

Went down to Ford in Barnsley a few weeks ago for their big reveal and performance day and was surprised to see they also had two customer cars under cover which were being picked up that day!

The colour really is very nice, up close it's slightly metallic which you don't notice from a distance.

I've seen a couple on the road, and there where 4 in my local ford dealer.

The blue imo makes the car look very fat at bloated
The white really looks good, makes the front bumper stand out much more
The grey looks great too, very menacing
The black also looks great, makes the car look very evil.

The upgraded bucket seats look very cool but totally out of place in a 5 door car where you can see the standard back bench, and the rears are straight from a ST by the looks of things.

The front of the car looks great, the side is ok but the rear lights let it down, and still no LED clusters on a 30k car, shame really, not even the units from a titanium are used which are at least part LED.

The diffuser looks nice though

I have nothing against the RS. But if that's true that is rather sad.

I saw one for the first time last week, I thought it was a Fiesta when I first saw it. Looked great in blue.

Coolest car I've seen for a while too and I get out plenty including PH Sunday services

The pearlescent in the nitrous blue looks great, so having seen 2 and driven one I just had to buy it.

Saw one last week. Hated it.

Just not for me I guess.

But then if you like the looks of any of the cars in your garage it seems you are far more into the mundane approach to styling. So yes probably not for you.

Had a good poke around a grey one at the nürburgring this week. Utterly bland.

There was a white one too and that looked a little better but still more like an ST than anything "hot". The white one was lapping at Spa yesterday and it was bloody quick mind! Possibly a PH member? R5 WOT

I think they look okay and nothing more. Agreed that the tech is slightly lacking - in particular the absence of LED headlamps.

However, I'm quite glad Ford chose this path by clearly spending more money on the bad-ass drivetrain rather than doing another, more aggressively styled, FWD car.

I went to Lincoln ford last week to look at one. Fully spec'd up about 33k I believe but absolutely no wiggle room on price at all and an 18 month waiting list. Very nice. Test drove a golf r at the VW dealership as well over the road. Both appear to be excellent cars. But with the rs already being flipped on autotrader for near 40k in one instance I think I will leave it a couple of years. Let somebody else take the depreciation.

That is because it is a fat and bloated family car. No doubt it will drive well and has plenty of BHP. However this large size of modern family car is no hot hatch, so everyone can forget about calling it that.

Good luck with that. Have you seen the prices of Mk2s? Crazy! eek

After posting that Ive realised that I saw a miura and a mp12c the other day ! Still, coolest realistically obtainable car.

I'm really surprised you thought that OP.

I saw a Nitrous Blue one a couple of days ago and I thought it really struggled with presence. Other than the colour, it didn't look any more impressive than a ST.

It was a big disappointment for me; especially given how great the Mk2 RS looks.

Good luck with that. This size of car are indeed hatches and the hot ones are indeed hot so they will confinue to be called that whether you like it or not.

Drive one and see if you can come up with a better label, they are fantastic fun.

How would you categorise it?

Got a brief look at a blue one in Guildford traffic yesterday thought it looked quite nice for the quick view of it I had,

That's thanks mostly to RS direct who buy all the good ones in the market and sell them at inflated prices because they are " the premier " dealer that is " blessed" to have such good trade. They have already bought and sold 8 new RS, no doubt for too much money
