Hi guys, I picked up a Monaro VXR LS2 last weekend, already posted on the FB group but thought I'd introduce myself (and car) here too along with some pictures.

The car was purchased from a PHer and I believe the previous owner was also on PH so it's been looked after. It's really a credit to its previous owners as I've never seen such a meticulous service history. Even the inside of the fuel filler cap was prestine.

The car has been awesome so far, that torque is incredible and the noise from the custom exhaust addictive. It sounds like thunder in a tunnel accompanied by pops and bangs on the over run. It is an effortless cruiser and I have some exciting trips planned already (including run against the sun).

The only slight negative is that the steering feels a bit loose, even though it's had a quick rack, RRP and other suspension upgrades. This will just take getting used to I'm sure and I'm feeling more confident in the car with each passing day.

I'll also explore potential power upgrades and maybe a dyno day soon as I was out dragged by my mates 370Z which I didn't expect. I guess it is a heavy car though.

I'm looking forward to getting her out to some events, already booked in for thunder road. biggrin

Welcome! Lovely car and the best colour smile

Puts mine to shame, I really need to get busy with the wax!

Also the 370z is quite a nippy car, under 5 seconds 0-60. Most modern hot hatchbacks will stick to you too, they are common as muck though. I just enjoy the occasion of rumbling around the roads in something a bit different.

Welcome to the madhouse these are big heavy cars and start tramping onwards from 100+mph unless you spend a few quid on upgrades too the engine.TR is good fun but can be costly to your wallet when coming up against some quicker cars lol

Thanks for your kind message Mike. Quick question, what product have you used to clean the windscreen? Rain beads up a treat and the wipers glide over the screen effortlessly, I'm assuming some kind of glass sealant?

Thanks. Judging by the stack of paperwork it's had Pedders Dampers all around, Road Response Pack and some other bits such as replacement drop link bushes, strut top bearing and rear sub frame bushes.
The car feels very fresh to drive and does not at all feel like it's 11 years old.

Right, the wiper blades are Bosch Aerotwins which I find are the best you can get. As for cleaning, the top coat is Sonax BSD detail spray, which I really like. I don't bother with the likes of GTechniq sealant, it costs a fortune!

Cracking looking car. I think when refurbing my alloys I'll go with the shadow chrome type finish too. Looks great on the red cars.

See you at thunder road.
