Hoping for some insight into the likely problem?

Picked up my beautiful new Spyder an hour ago and lost the clutch on the drive home. Pedal is down to the floor. I can pull it back but goes straight back to the floor once depressed.

Waiting for the recovery vehicle frown

Oh mate, don't have an answer for you but do feel for you, what a disappointment, hope it is something silly and quickly resolved.

Sounds like a leak in the hydraulic system? If this turns out to be the case I would make extra sure it didn't spill on any painted chassis parts.

Curse for having one of each maybe? winkbiggrin Joking aside, that's rubbish man, hope they are professional about fixing it and ensuring it doesn't ruin the experience completely.

Just home - it soon got much worse than just a dodgy clutch!

Porsche Recovery sent out one of their "approved" companies to recover the car back to Porsche Cardiff. The vehicle that arrived was patently not fit for loading a relatively low car. The guy eventually got it on using various planks of wood!

The really bad bit was that on arrival back at the OPC it was apparent that both rear wheels (which had been strapped down), had been damaged in the process.

To say I'm pi$$ed off is an understatement. I can forgive a rogue mechanical gremlin but I really cannot forgive a car being damaged during recovery. The fact that it had less than 40 miles on the clock and was half an hour old just made it all the more frustrating.

I'll await contact on Tuesday but have mentioned that the wheels need to be replaced.

On a semi positive note, the car was absolutely fantastic before it ground to a halt!

Just frustrating. The clutch was bad enough but damaging a car during recovery is just inexcusable.

Really feel for you. Completely unacceptable to have any vehicle damaged during recovery let alone a new one.

Not a great start to car ownership, but hey st happens sometimes.

If its fixed and sorted to your satisfaction, then all is good.

Feel for you M33! I've enjoyed sharing the wait for our cars with you and I know how I would feel in your situation... Gutted!

And then to have it damaged in transit FFS.

I suspect you will be partaking of some form of liquid refreshment and letting it all just wash over you.

The 26 miles I covered with an operating clutch were awesome. What a fantastic car.

Still...I expected more from Porsche. Their recovery service was comedically bad!

I would make sure they replace the damaged wheels. I have no doubt they will just get their wheel man out and get them painted. No way would I accept that.

Was the dealer and recovery driver made aware of the damage at the time?

I'd hate to think that the dealer might just fob you off back to the recovery company over the damage to your wheels, after all it was the recovery guy that damaged them not the dealer.

Hope you get sorted pronto and they give you something nice to drive in the mean time.

imv you have been subjected to the full wrath of Cardiff opc for flipping your long awaited GT4 to their nemesis at Porsche Silverstone,i bet you all the staff were sniggering when you drove off in your new pride and joy;).This was obviously a pure and wanton act of deliberate sabotage out of vengeance!.Next time you call in there for a coffee ask the DP to first take a sip just in case its laced with laxatives or other ills.

Yes they were. Although since Porsche Recovery arranged the collection the issue is back to them. The fact that it was one of their "preferred" independents who took the job on is irrelevant to me - I'm dealing with Porsche.

Again, Porsche Recovery arranged a hire car for me not the local dealer - a BMW estate. So no upside!
