Was that an ex Ford press fleet car?
I have no idea as they didn't seem to record owner history back then although I did get a few scathing remarks about it being an ex Ford car. I never understood what the issue was at the time, still don't and I bet the nit pickers back then would like to own it now. I loved the car at the time and it went well and never gave any trouble so never had an issue with it.
With Fords it could have originally been driven by anyone in the company as their managers were given new cars every three months.

I only ask because it looks like one of their plates. As you say, could have been a managers car etc. My XR4x4 was an ex Ford car, always made me think that it made it a bit more interesting. A great looking car anyway.

Good call, there were lots of PNO ***R Fords put out for publicity. Doyle's RS2 had a gen PNO ... R plate, later shown on T plate with 77 roll top recaros etc. Have not seen a RNO but that means nothing.

Re orange mk2 3 litres I had BSE 325S, a very late mk2 orange manual 3000 Ghia. Totally standard and a bit of a boat by 1989 but good runabout. Had some others.

(Note to DBSv8, lose the wheel spacers), shhh.

It never bothered me who the previous owners were (I was the third I think) but 'NO' was an Essex number and not necessarily reserved for FMC, at one point we had another car with an NO reg that was definitely bought new from a dealer but as I said I didn't understand what all the fuss was about it being an ex Ford car.
