My E92 335I SE
Discussion
What's next....if only things were that easy.
In a change of direction, I decided that a sensible car was required, so a 2 year old Golf GTD was purchased.
Very happy I am too, apart from one thing. that engine. Sure it's effective, and the MPG is good, but having been spoilt with BMW 6 pots recently it just makes me wince, I'm not sure if I'll get used to it, we'll see. I'll not bother with a thread about it as I can't see it's of any interest.
The sensible choice was supposed to allow me buy something sporty, and I had lined up a 997 to buy. This has turned out to be the worst attempt at buying a car I've ever experienced. I'll not go into it on here, but let's just say the guy I was buying the car from was experiencing some issues. The upshot is no 997 arrived on my drive and the whole experience has put me off a little bit.
So, where does that leave me? Well, I think I need to scratch the V8 itch, so I'm casually looking around for something suitable which could make for a semi interesting thread.
One thing that may interest one or two of you was the drunken EBay purchase of a Fiat Panda 100hp.....

Yeah, to be fair it is.
I may have been a bit hasty with the diesel though, and perhaps the GTI may have been a better buy. Still that's hardly the cars fault.
I've just broke the news of the Panda to the wife, and despite us not needing a 10 year old Italian stbox that looks like a fridge, I can tell she was impressed.

I've been trying for ages to get the wife to ditch her Fiesta diesel econobox and get a Panda 100HP. Every couple of months I show her a picture and say "what about one of these" hoping she's forgotten I've already asked and she's like "um... no, like the last several times you suggested it"
I'll keep trying though

On the diesel front I completely agree. I traded my E92 335i in for a later F30 330D. Don't like it, it's too modern, too quiet and too boring!

Interested to hear what you think, I've had my GTD Estate for 3 months now and have covered 10k miles. I drive mostly with the engine in 'Eco' mode or occasionally 'Normal' as I find it a bit snatchy!f1nn said:

Hah similar story, I sold my 335i back in August last year. Jumped straight into a GS450h which I never gelled with and bought a CLK270CDi in December as I was doing a lot of motorway, it had a 5 pot & was cheap. Ran it with pretty much zero issues but have been looking for a replacement for the last couple of months. Picked up an N53 530i last week and I'm delighted to be back in a BMW and I must stop forgetting that they're worth the painful maintenance (most of the time!)Very happy I am too, apart from one thing. that engine. Yep I found the same in mine, ran it in Individual mode with everything in Normal except engine in Eco. Seemed the best configuration The M135i lives in 'Comfort' mode
