Going to get one tonight. It's only £400 so expectations aren't high, although it runs/drives and has 9 months MOT left.

Pick it up in a couple of days. I'll post a pick later but other than a bit of a dent in the rear quarter on one side, it's better than I had hoped.

Cracking thread Nick! Loving the photos, that's some serious fun on a budget. Wish I had the space/funds for something like this too.

Cheers, it is a right chuckle. Needs some TLC now but that will have to wait until December.

Hello everyone, I have been wanting to get into off roading for years! I finally have some funds and am looking to get my first toy. After talking to a few experienced guys and reading every post on every forum I can find I have decided getting a jimny to start with, it may be the best choice for me (price and insurance is cheap). I have £1500 to sort myself out with one. This will only be used perposly for going green laneing and pay and plays as I have a van for work and commuting.
However I cannot seems to find a mechanically decent jimny for £1500 😞 I was wondering if anyone can head me in the right direction or if it's even possible.

Thank you in Advance
Alex

Best bet is eBay and gumtree. You want to look for ones that have not been off-roaded. It seems most of these that get bought and modified get treated very badly.

Look for one that's spent all its like pottering about town in 2wd. They are out there.

Also this is due an update.

I'd not used the Jimny since September and he MOT ran out in October. I've bought a rear disc conversion and a replacement Cat so hopefully with those fitted it should pass an MOT.

Hoping to be back on the road in a couple of weeks.
