Looks to be in real good shape mate.
Regarding the nose, you can buy the piece to convert the late nose to early, but the grilles won't be cheap nowadays, and it'll obviously need painting, so costs will go up sharpish!
How does it go with that little setup? It sounds like what I'll go for if I don't fancy an engine swap

Depends what you're used to.
Coming from my S2000 it doesn't feel slow
Its only got just over 150bhp at the flywheel because the compression is way down. (I've got a dyno print out somewhere)
Laranca Motorsport said I should be running 11-1 with their pistons and rods which should be good for 170-180bhp which will be plenty.
As you probably know it's not about out right speed.

love these cars, they just look so cool, i remember watching a video on youtube about one with an m3 engine in i believe it was, unbelievable
Here you gohttps://youtu.be/9mvWNdvFjBs
Not an uncommon conversion.
I'll have to check my other 02, as the previous owner told me it had a tii engine in it, but converted to carbs. Definitely believable as the injection system can be a pain if it goes wrong.
150 would be plenty for me. I've got another car for the speed side of things.
The F20c goes in the 02's too!

I keep thinking about getting a modified 2002. I assume it is comfortably sub 1000kg? Also, what's the steering feel and precision like?
A standard car is 940kg so I imagine mines around a 1000ish with the half cage and 5spd box (assuming that's heavier than the original 4spd)Steering feel is pretty good to be honest however my daily is a 7 series and my pervious fun car was an s2000 so maybe my views are a bit tainted.
Obviously it's a bit of a pig at lower speeds but the quicker lotus sunbeam rack is great unless manoeuvring.
Alex; yeah it's great that he seems to show an interest at a young age. Maybe he can help me build my mk1 Jetta when he's older.

Fantastic machine!
Nice pairing with the E34 too......any info on that one?
It's a late (1995) 3.8 M5. Nice pairing with the E34 too......any info on that one?
Used to be my daily driver but it's been off the road for a while.
Had all the EDC replaced with normal eibach dampers last year.
Was due to go to the body shop in Feb to get all the rust sorted as the arches are starting to bubble, at least 1 sill is shot and I've got a rust free non spoiler boot lid to go on.
After all that it was getting a full respray (same colour: Avus Blue) however the day I went to take it in it developed an electrical fault and no one can get to the bottom of it.
There's a place in Derby that think they can solve it but I'll have to get it trailered there. Can't wait to get it back on the road.

Understand your desire to get back in to it - I haven't driven mine for 3.5 years, but one day.......
In the meantime, can't be too bad to be riding around in the '02!!!
