I believe it was named Tomcat as the coupe design was inspired by the shape of the Grumann F-14 Tomcat??

Is it true that the chassis of these is basically that of a DC2?
Believe they share the same rear suspension set-up as the 'Teg...

Nice! One of my friends still has his tucked up in a garage in Cardiff, 350bhp, massive Mynheer wing and gaping FMIC. Looks like it's been plucked straight out of a late 90s cruise. Awesome thing. I don't think he's put more than a few thousand miles on it in 10 years.

Some components shared with this gen and similar vintage hondas. The SOHC 1.6 is the D16 engine from the EG civic - minus the VTEC cam. Variants of which were also in the CRX, the 216gti etc.

We had a grey 216 coupe with half leather, and a 620Ti in green with the same recaro half leather. Fond memories of both! Personally - the coupe, with no spoiler and in dark grey or blue would be my choice. Bet you could get a B-series honda engine in there too. Maybe pop a B20 bottom end from a CRV under a B18c from a teg..

stop it.

When I lived in Stroud there was one of these doing the rounds for years. Blue and white with a front bumper apparently made from expanding foam. Utterly gopping and surprisingly slow; it was Turbo badged but fairly sure it wasn't turbocharged.

I assume it eventually rusted into oblivion. A shame really as I have a bit of a soft spot for a nice, tidy standard or tastefully tweaked one of these (along with the contemporary Calibra and especially the Corrado). Something to do with growing up in the 90's I think.

The front bumper is actually pretty similar. Just fill everything between the black trim strips and the bottom of the splitter with a slabby and nearly endless sea of badly sanded expanding foam, and you've got it in one.

Wow. This thread takes me back. A set of MOMO Arrows as well. I've not seen a set of those in a very long time.

Nice car Clint. I've not seen one in white before.
