I moved to my FN2 from a R53 Cooper S.
Much more comfortable, quicker, far more practical day to day and with cruise control much happier on the motorway.
It delivers its thrills at much higher speeds than the MINI, my mini was fun around town and small roundabouts, the FN2 is fun on B roads and big long sweepers.
Both great drivers cars in their own way but quite different.
I miss the minis punchiness and ability to have fun all the time. The FN2 is a bit on or off. However great car,
I totally agree with this. The harder you push the more thrilling it gets. It really likes to stretch its legs on the more open roads. Having driven a R53 Cooper S the fun is more accessible. Then again I think that's why everyone likes a Type R.Much more comfortable, quicker, far more practical day to day and with cruise control much happier on the motorway.

Thanks for all the comments guys, I wasn't sure if the FN2 would really get any on here I've tried to keep it mint, its a 57 plate and only just hit 50k. Reasonably low mileage for the year.
It's recently been at honda having an entire roof respray. This can corrode when the roof lining meets the windscreen, there is a small plastic strip which generally rubs the paint away causing rust over time. Honda replaced the 'hard' plastic strip with a softer revised one also. Unless it's been addressed by honda almost all if not all FN2's will suffer this problem.
What year is your car? Mine is suffering the rusty roof fate. I just figured that they wouldn't do anything about it now with the age of itIt's recently been at honda having an entire roof respray. Cheers I'll not take over your thread anymore

I am really tempted by one of these, the only down side is we are expecting a little one and not sure how easy they are to get a baby in and out of the back seats.
Snap, little one due in a few months also. The Mrs has a 5 door but I shall be sticking with this. It really is big inside, very practical and as others have said, civilised when driven around town and shops but when the mood takes you your able to drive it as hard as you like.No major update, went to rockingham today (touring cars) so gave the car a good blast there and back on some gorgeous back roads. I also changed the pollen filter and did some swirl tidying on the bonnet during the past week, although the quick pictures were terrible. MOT next week, fingers crossed.

Looks as clean as mine. Also with less Stone chips! I'm not a fan of the carbon bits though.
I've had it as a daily for over 3 years. I've become so dam attached. The only thing I've had to do to it is; replace the brakes and tyres (for obvious reasons) and a number plate bulb. That's it other than general servicing. Not bad for a 9 year old car.
Looks good mare, keep it clean and drive it hard!
Excuse for mine:

Yes it was standard, I think by savage it felt like the crossover was far more noticeable. But in real world driving, driven hard as intended there is very little between them. I think the 'more savage' was also probably due to being more spartan and feeling like an older car, still well put together mind you.
So... A slight change of plan due to a little one on the way. After only just having the car serviced and pads and discs done it is shortly going to be up for sale. Number plates sorted today and a new 5 door fiesta ST is on order. In spirit blue of course
I've loved owning this car it's been a superb all rounder and nothing but reliable, however with my circumstances changing I've had to give in.
I'll look at getting a new thread of the ST when it arrives, although I'm sure there's plenty out there already.
