Anyway , I will kick this off as per subject title , had a vw polo 1.2 as a hire car last year very very slow , luggage and people obviously made it even worse , hills were a problem this made for a really uncomfortable driving experience , proper struggle
What exactly suprised you about a 1.2 litre Polo being slow? Having tried a number of them (but not the VXR), I have always found the Vauxhall Insignia rather lacking. The automatics are the worst as they just feel like the torque converter is sapping the power to wheezing levels. They're not bad cars but they're leisurely old buses to cruise in. I did have a Buick LaCrosse 3.6 V6 hire car in America once, which went pretty well, though. Just a rebadged Insignia with some nice wood trim!

Drive the 1.0 3-cyl turbo Fiesta and then go and drive the 1.25 4-cyl Fiesta. The latter one will make you want to cry.
That little turbo really adds a good bit of flexibility to the engine for day to day driving, I hope things like that are the norm in future because small capacity N/A engines like the 1.25 are dire as fk.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
