Phil you weren't at DESS between 1984-1986 were you? I have fond memories of the UAE and RAK before they were spoiled by the crazy development, although the the latter is apparently a lot more controlled.
Afraid not. I was at the DESS in Doha though, unless that's what you mean? shirt said:
that one used to live in my basement car park [murjan JBR]. spent ages under a sheet then disappeared, i wondered where it had gone.
nice car but for me phil your orange 912 is the pick of the bunch. just looks so right
Pretty sure the one in JBR was graphite grey. The Tomini car was brought into market.nice car but for me phil your orange 912 is the pick of the bunch. just looks so right
The 912 sits very high on the list that's for sure. A honey of a car and one we've had the longest.

Yes it is.
So, is it a 90 degree V?Looks that way in the pics, certainly not 60 or 120, which would kind of confirm my recollection that the block was originally RV8 based.
Cracking engine. Interesting that OEMs are now going back to similar engines. Small capacity, V6, turbo etc. In many respects, very ahead of its time!

Have you considered using another, more modern, tire on the car? It won't be rated for 220 MPH, but tire technology's changed massively in the past 25 years.
I'd imagine something like a BFGoodrich Rival or Bridgestone RE-71R would be spectacular for both grip and feedback.
To be honest I have, and I'm also exceptionally happy that Don and Bridgestone are re-creating the tyres with a fresh tech approach. Should make the car 100% better. I'd imagine something like a BFGoodrich Rival or Bridgestone RE-71R would be spectacular for both grip and feedback.
One of the minor niggles (inheritent design flaw) of the 220 is the air con system. It's a bit hit and miss as to whether you get a chilly flow, or a wheezy pant. Never really an issue in the UK other than those rare summer days that take us by suprise. It wouldn't be the issue it is without the full glass roof. Maybe it's time to look at a new system, and or find a suitable reflective film for the glass.
