XJR X300 Race Car
Discussion
Hello Guys n Gals
Some of you may have seen my old thread on the XJ40-R Race Car. Well that car did me proud in the Toyo Tyres Jec Saloon and GT Championship and I took home 1st in Class A this year, and the car has become a great friend, gonna miss the old girl. She's now for sale!
So now that class is done n dusted, a new project is beginning. We are going to build a full on Class D supercharged X300 XJR in Class D. This will include perspex, fibreglass body work, lots of weight loss, sorted suspension, big brakes and a well sorted (400bhpish) 4.0 AJ16. Watch this space for more updates, 6 months to complete
Cheers

Hello all
Well the XJ40 is now sold, new owner intends to race the car next season which is great. Bit sad seeing it go, but onwards and upwards
With regards to why I didn't use the XJ40 and fit the R engine, it was merely because I've been told that the getting the engine in, and running would be a bit of a pig. Also the XJR already has bigger brakes etc, so out the box it's more capable. I also fancied a change after 3 years if I'm honest
Dyno day tomorrow, and the Gearbox goes in! Exciting

Can't wait to see the new project on track...

Mega stuff gents! Hopefully you won't need any spares
So she's partially stripped, and jsut got back from the dyno. Very strong power was made (300hp and 400nm) but afte two runs, 35hp was lost as a result of high charge intake temps, which is a common issue on these. So this will need to be addressed. Gearbox goes in next week, then it's off to Emerald for stand alone management.
