.Hi All,

We have another little project on the go at the moment..

The current Stagea, which we have had a couple of years is near end of life unfortunately. She has been a fighter, been on a few track days. The Chassis is now too rusty.

Sooooo, we have a new one smile

We'll transfer the performance parts over, and currently looking at a crazy printed wrap for the car too

The 2 together..

MOT Time

The new Stagea is a fresh import and a very clean 125,000 kilometres example. Has service stickers over it, and all history from Japan. Zero Rust.

Its the Turbo 2.5 litre 24 Valve 6 Cylinder Engine out of the Nissan SKyline R33 GTS-t, and a 4wd System Similar to the R33 GTR Nissan Skyline.

Should hopefully be a fun Project over the next couple of months...

Check back for updates, always keen to hear views smile

Oh I do like an unusual Jap sleeper. So is this one a RB25 with 4wd and rear LSD?

My mate has one. Interesting car to drive - they feel heavy, but with some minor work can go like stink!

Look very stock. Does it have any trick parts at all? Interesting thread for sure.

I was SO close to pulling the trigger on one of these about 4 years ago but I didn't have the bottle. I'll be following your story with interest.

Nice, looking forward to seeing progress on this! Can't say I remember ever seeing the red one around town.

There are some trick parts going on, will keep it on the build thread for you..

Yes, a similar 4wd to R33 GTR...

This is another Stagea I had a few years ago. RS260 Version drifting in the snow. Full R33 GTR in Estate Trim, near 400 BHP. Shows the 4wd working well

Another stagea coming soon Mr Thrust, don't be too upset !

Further to the "Skyline GTR in estate trim" comment, what do you think of these front-end swaps? (and... not the wrap)

I really like the GTR front end on a Stagea.

Shame about the red one oxidising, looks great in that colour and on those wheels.

Did you get another Stagea because you find the practicality useful, or just because it's a cool and unusual performance car?

A 400hp Stagea is way cooler than the recent fad of 'performance SUVs', and probably more useful too smile

Cool car! I look forward to seeing the transformation.

I love that R33 front ended one. Looks great.

always liked these...was looking at the newer shape (2002 RS four) the other day, seems a lot of car for relatively cheap.

On the long list for when i want a sensible family wagon in the future.

Lots of kind words, thank you..

I did look at a 2002, M35 is the model shape. They were a complete new chassis and design. Much more modern car.
They also run the v6 2.5 litre Turbo 5 gear Auto, instead of this one being straight 6 2.5 litre turbo 4 gear auto.

still pretty lively though? I'm more of a retro JDM fan at heart, but a newer car would appeal as a daily, rather than a project.

Hi All,

The car passed the MOT, woo hoo...

Over all looks to be in very good condition.

I've never seen brakes so even on the tester !
(Top is front brakes, middle is foot brake, bottom is the rear brakes).

Next to get it registered and all the goodies from the other Stagea fitted...

Massive shame about the red car, that's a great looking wagon. Still, onwards and upwards.

As a poster above asked, what do you think of front end swaps? I'm not sure about the R33 version posted but the R34 front end conversion looks fantastic (I'm thinking of the Double Unicorn build from MCM if you've seen it).

I've always had a soft spot for these. Spotted one near Welwyn this weekend.

The R34 GTR front end swap looks particularly sweet!
