Amazing VFM, especially as you got a car that someone has spent quite a bit on.

Really would ditch the badges though.

I don't generally like Mercedes but I do like the big, bad ones. Ones like yours. Enjoy!

hi all

thanks for all the positive comments! The Merc really is a monster and fantastic value for money.

I have been in contact with a company called MSL who do Merc remaps and have been promised an extra 100 hp taking me up to 600!

Two months in now and all has been well apart from squeaky front wishbones which were replaced by the dealer. Apparently its a common Merc problem?

The wet weather recently has been challenging - the rear spins up with fhe slightest touch of the throttle as the turbos spool up. All thd torque can bedifficult to get down onto the road unless roads are bone dry.

Dont really miss the M5 to be honest!

wowzer! That looks absolutely incredible.

The only thing I would change is the raise the suspension up about 2cm as the wheels are just a tad too far into the arches IMO
Cat, these run on air suspension, when the car is off, it settles down and looks lower. I agree that it looks incredible, I love CL's

That is a beautiful machine. I think that shape is aging incredibly well. Who knows where car design will head in 20 years onwards, but I think that will still look magnificent.

I'm still very much attached to driving a manual gearbox, but perhaps something like that will be in my future. I would HAVE to get one with the M156 engine though.

Lovely example, out of interest where did you find it? I've done a search and can only find CL500's not many 600's out there

There is a black one on Autotrader for £24k. Looks a bit meek without the AMG kit though.

Stunning, as said really can't believe that is a 10 year old, looks much nicer than current line-up.

Always liked the CL.

This is the sort of car I buy outside of supercars.

£120k down to £20k. Leave the rest to carry on leasing their bmws/golf/audis

Stunning vehicle, as others have mentioned.

Miles per gallon?

I bet gallons per mile is a better measure.

Great car good choice
I've been round a track in the cl 65
Yes really !

The bolsters move more than the suspension and its quilted leather and bolted split rims !
The v12 is too quiet!

What is involved in lowering one of these if they have air suspension? Is it a pain in arse? Expensive?

Generally its a case of kidding the computer with different links to the sensors so it thinks it is higher than it is, I find my CLS is low enough in Sport 2 to not need to mess with it.

Even remotely tempted to get those Japanese equal length headers for the full Zonda soundtrack? Lovely machine and so much metal for the money, congratulations sir.

hi, it turned up on Autotrader - I was originally looking at the 63 but the 600 with the AMG kit is even nicer for me - the torque of the biturbo is immense!
