Craig's built a v10 one previously. This is a much better package for the track.
Have you ever driven a spec'd LS? I think you'd change your mind.

Awesome biggrin

It sounds great on tickover, but not as filthy as I had imagined when revved? Is it quite a quiet exhaust or is the mic maybe just not picking it up properly? Either way, first startup is always a great moment!
It's pretty quiet as I need to be able to get on circuits. That's doing maybe a thousand revs. It should sound adequately angry at 7! Also just a phone I'll try and do some better videos when it's not stuck damperless on a ramp!
Ah yeah that's a good point, I hadn't thought about that. I bet you can't wait till it's finished biggrin

I can't! If I can get my dampers back this week, it'll be on the road over the weekend. Big IF though! biggrin

I don't know what's more surprising - the fact that I didn't know his thread existed or the fact that there are people in here who are not impressed with what you are doing.

Sorry, I just don't understand putting American V8's in. Yes they're powerful, but they completely ruin the mental feeling of revving it. It's like putting one in to a Teg.

But put the M5 V10 in to one? Yes please and far more interesting lick
You think? Have you ever experienced the LS, the wave of torque will more than make up for the rose tinted specs I'd imagine? It's not an old Buick V8 we're talking about!

I have a feeling Ash isn't sold on BMW's superior German engineering after his M54's conrod decided it didn't want to stay inside the engine anymore. hehe

Still looking forward to a passenger ride in this once you've got it all sorted. biggrin

That'd be V1 TEN wouldn't it? That looked like a right PITA to get to work.

That's the one! I can't justify adding expense, complexity and weight for very little gain other than internet kudos. I also toyed with the idea of a 2JZ, but for me, the LS3 is the absolute best value/weight/performance motor on the market.

I have tried to keep a bit of the BMW feel. It's a very revvy package for an LS and it is of course still NA. I thought about this for years, I didn't just one day wake up and order a crate engine on a whim haha.

I'd have bought a Viper ACR if I had the money. This will be that, on a "shoestring"...

The bay is, for all intents and purposes, complete.
Bloody hell it looks so at home! I'm so excited I might vomit.

Stunning work! As brute said looks OEM. Also there looks to be loads of room. Might even be enough to get one of the below if you get board at that power level... wink
