How many fellow owners have fallen into the same habit as me of refusing to close your driver's door until after you have started the engine?
I can't get enough of that sound and regularly driver around with all my windows open so I can hear it better, regardless of the temperature.
Agree with earlier poster that I would happily sacrifice some luxury to hear it better inside the car.

I ask my son to start it up before we are ready to go! - I get to hear it and the wife gets to know we are waiting for her!I can't get enough of that sound and regularly driver around with all my windows open so I can hear it better, regardless of the temperature.

I can recommend this 100% - i had it done a while ago.
Gives a nice increase in volume without being OTT. And no droning / booming at all.
Thats good to hear, its so easy to get it wrong and make the noise unbearableGives a nice increase in volume without being OTT. And no droning / booming at all.

Have any of you opted for the Merc service plan which is £40 a month i believe, good value?
When I took my Slk55 in for a Major B service which included all plugs and transmission fluid change MB quoted me £1400. By doing a service plan it was reduced to £1050 and also included my next A service gratis (which I just had done last month including brake fluid)

I would definitely look into a service plan. I was initially sceptical thinking it would just be another direct debit and would rather pay when it was due in one go.

Yes i have signed up for the plan, it seems good value looking at what can happen with some big numbers being thrown up. I am seriously thinking about one of these in Wagon form as my next more practical car (Currently S1) next May we are purchasing what will become a large dog.
I would try and opt for a subtle shade that blue is lovely unfortunately I lot seem to com in gangster spec.
Before purchasing one of these did anyone consider the new C43

I considered a C43 for a microsecond - but the new interiors with the stuck-on screen lack cohesion compared to the 2011+ C63 IMHO, and the 6.2 is on my bucket list of engines to try before I die (driving a plug in hybrid probably).
The C43 does make a very nice noise (sounds a little like a F-Type to me) and the blue it comes in looks great. I think the C63 estates are not really too gangster in any guise unless lowered massively, again personally.
Edit to add - I've seen quite a few A and B class on the black-with-silver rim wheels - so perhaps the "gangsterness" of them being on the C63 will wane? I will be looking out for some standard 18" next year to make it blend in a bit more.

Loved my C63 PP Coupé for the 12 months we had it, a shame that SWMBO got to drive it more than I did - a side affect of being to posted abroad for a year. The fleet manager was surprised that I handed it back on it's original rear tyres. Agree with all the other posters, the start up "bark" is utterly glorious.
