A bodged fuel line on a TFSI motor is a recipe for dissaster, the tfsi motor commands mega high fuel pressure and volume. No wonder you had low fuel pressure. If this were my car then i'd be surfing the Audi VW forums for a relliable specialist to give the car a good once over, I think once the previously BODGED faults are curred then you will have a nice reliable quick car.

Put the Audi on whocanfixmycar today because I'm lazy and to my surprise it is already on it's way back to me with upgraded fuel lines. Someone had previously used an air line instead of a fuel line which is obviously very stupid and it's slowly failed to the point of completely rupturing.. how it lasted as long as it has is beyond me! The low fuel pressure code has been cleared but there is still a code for fuel regulator limit exceeded which isn't throwing up a light but just requires a new sensor.

I was dreading getting it onto a flatbed as it was boxed in parked on a road and I thought it wouldn't start because it didn't start when it died a couple of weeks ago, but to my surprise it started up first time and I drove it onto the flatbed leaving behind this mess..


I shall report back when I have the car.. I hope it works. I'm still very much enjoying the Ecoboost Fiesta hire car I have at the moment hehe

Ended up telling the mechanic to replace the sensor as it went into limp mode when he test drove it, which has done nothing.. so I've just paid for a new fuel pump and regulator to be fitted today which he said should fix my problem 100%.. to be honest I've been told so much st I don't even know what the problem is anymore I just want the car back so I can sell it asap

I didn't get the car back again, phoned at 5 and they told me there was a very very intermittent fault where the car would lose all power for a split second on a test drive and the car turned off and on again when he wiggled the loom suggesting a loose wire which he is fixing for free he just had to find it except he now isn't answering the phone so I reckon he probably made that up to get out of delivering the car to me on a Friday evening when they were about to close hehe

Hopefully tomorrow then!

This has been a disaster, it all seemed so good at the start.

Just goes to show you never know what your buying or who from, sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don't.

Well he got back to me so he has been working hard, he offered to deliver me the car tonight if I needed it but it was in limp mode some of the time which was nice of him but I've learnt my mistake and I've told him to keep it so he's taking the inlet manifold off tomorrow to have a proper look at the problem.

OK - i've been trying to read back through the thread as something is proper fooked up and nothing adds up!!

so....

you bough the car second hand


then you took it somewhere and got a second hand engine fitted (you said it had been done earlier - receipt? and it rubbing on a broken engine mount seems suspect to me...normally encased by plastic cover.

at this point alarm bells are ringing in my head but the thread went off at a tangent about a new car etc.

what company did you take the car to for its replacement engine??

who did you then send it to for its next repair?

who took it away on the flat bed??

i have seen so many bad news stories about replacement engine companies! then when you said for £100 extra they'd swap the turbo over (why would this need doing?)

can you just put down the timeline of events please

Yeah i apologise for how confusing this thread is but the timeline is:
- Bought car that had a new engine with supposed cambelt change within engine guidelines as assured by private seller
- Cambelt went on the engine and the previous owner paid for a new engine to be put in but it was only the bare engine, end up getting a reconditioned turbo due to slight play in the old one
- Get the car back with a low fuel pressure code and don't have full power, it was over fueling and running like st but I needed the car and couldn't afford a hire car and they didn't know what was wrong
- Car breaks on the way back to Essex to get it repaired when a fuel line ruptured which turned out to be an air line had been used in place of a fuel line and bodged
- Hire a Fiesta Ecoboost and decided I need one
- Audi put on whocanfixmycar and recovered to a local garage after a week or so of sitting broken
- Audi driven onto flatbed to go to garage where it is now
- Fuel line changed which sorted the leaky problem but there was still gremlins with the regulator and fuel pump so I got a new one as copper grease had been used where it shouldn't
- Car now has an intermittent fault where it loses power and goes into limp mode due to something in the wiring loom
- I give up and burn it

I think that's pretty much it..

OP I know how you feel.

I purchased a Toyota Corolla T sport March 2015, 1 month later I could hear the engine making a metal clunking noise. The bottom end went. I was going very fast exiting a curved motorway slip-road, must have been low on oil too causing oil starvation.

£1500 later and a new engine went in, a few months later, misfire. Uh oh, what could this be? It was a fault ignition coil. A few months go by and another misfire comes, so I checked to see what it was, the spark plugs were loose, and cyclinder number 3 the spark plug had lost its electrode in the cyclinder.

You can still love a car, but once your confidence goes, it feels horrible. My confidence is coming back now, good luck!

what company did you use for the engine replacement?

so the car is now on its 3rd engine??

If there wasn't an oil pressure warning light beforehand I'm not sure how it could be Intrigued's fault?

Surprised at somebody having problems with a Toyota 1.8. Normally they're bulletproof.

Yep third time lucky!
It's had a new crankshaft sensor which is making the car run a lot smoother which is good I suppose.. just waiting for them to find and fix a suspected electrical fault then I'll have it back!

I'll give it a week to impress me again before I get rid
