Absolutely, even though there is a minority of muppets on here I think 99% are of folks are bloody marvellous... Andy especially!

Evening all, got my car back from the welding work today and it looks great! A fantastic job done by a very reasonable garage in Leamington Spa.

Came out £150 less than quoted because there was no rot under the body work.

I have some before pictures which may be disturbing to those who own a similar vintage Alfa... if you haven't had a good poke around under there, go to it. 😲

A lot is caused by poor jacking in the past. Glad I now have a good solid car underneath as well as on top. It's a rust free car!

Cheers.
Sam

I already have a search set up on Autotrader notifying me when a GTV comes up for sale, this thread isn't helping me trying to scratch the GTV itch.

Well if my car history is anything to go by I've got a couple of bits to make mine spot on then I will sell it lol.

Honestly though, get one! They sound incredible, handles much better than it's given credit for and just has a special feeling about it. What you thinking of getting?

My seco d GTV V6 was probably one of the best cars I have ever owned, felt, looked, sounded far more special than the Boxster S I had at the same time.

I had an MJ exhaust, Quaife, GTA flywheel and clutch, the harder you drove it the more alive it felt

Oh, it was also very reliable

Andy! Cheers for the stickers, the mrs just told me they arrived. Going to get the spare slam panelpoder coated then put them on.

Mine is totally reliable and loves to be pushed. The solid fly wheel makes it rev so fast!

EL down pipes sound so good with my ragazzon exhaust. Next stop will be LSD, had the rear powerflexed and that's a great mod!

It's the 3 litre V6 that my search is set up for.

To be honest, I don't actually have the parking space at the moment for another car, doesn't stop me looking and wanting one anyway though.

Not posted for a while. Lots being done to the car, back on Teledials, lots of new parts and gave it a good detail today.

Apart from needing a bonnet spray the paint is lovely.

Going in for a wheel bearing and steering wheel swap Thursday. Also going to give the seats and carpet a very good clean.

Few pictures after detailing:

I don't have a hose supply to snow foam but my method was as follows;

Two bucket method wash
Rinse
Clay
Paint correction using a DA polisher
Glaze
Wax

Glass cleaned and protected
Wheels sealed with gtec C5

Not a mega detail but didn't have too much time.

Next up is painting the calipers. Looked into powder coating but the cost is bonkers.

Car looks great. When you say bonkers, is that because they have to be stripped because of the heat involved - any rubber seals will get burnt etc?

I'd rub down and primer them properly and then paint with a satin finish in your choice of colour.
