Just gotta say that I have been AN AVID "Silent' member of PH for quite a while.....

TBH I couldnt be bothered with loggin in and the sorts BUT

Designforlife.....What a Car Mate....

Love the above pictures of your car and what a beauty it is....

Just to post this comment I had to register lol

I dont know how these cars handle and drive as I am more of a SUBARU fan (Surprise) But maybe slightly larger wheels ie 18", will give the car a more aggresive stance ... Just my tuppence

AND once again ur car is the reason for me registering onto PH.....WELL DONE AND CONGRATS on your DC5

Glad to be of service, it seems to bring out a lot of positive comments from everyone!

Should be getting it back from the specialist mid next week, so weather/salt pending it'll start getting some use.

As for wheels, I'll probably stick with the oem for now, but everyone raves about the advan a08r being quite a transformative tyre choice on these, so I'll give those a go.

AD08R is a stunning tyre. I run them on the NSX and they don't seem to know they're supposed to be a semi-track tyre, even in this weather. Almost too grippy, but progressive, under ideal conditions.

Stunning DC5, BTW!

Hate it when they cut that ugly fog light in to the rear, better / best left as standard. Apart from that cloud9

Some of us out in Dubai have a bit of a soft spot for these as we race one.

Beautiful car!

Does the milano red suffer from fading on these like the DC2 did?

very much so, i'm just lucky that the previous owner kept on top of polishing/sealing it, as this one is in pretty good shape.

Got her back!

Alarm/locking issue sorted...turns out the way the alarm was wired in (wrong) means it is using different earths to the central locking, so while the alarm was activated it was tripping the locks.

Now the two have been severed from each other...so i don't have remote locking anymore, but can still use the alarm, and central locking works on the key. Fine for now smile

While it was in (I used perfect touch in Hoddesdon, fully recommend them), the car also had a full health check which came back immaculate (phew), and the engine bay steam cleaned.

One clean engine bay, not too bad for a 14 year old car.

Looks tidy. I'd be tempted to clean up the aluminium bits to match.

I forgot these gave hydraulic steering. The pump on the left is just an idler pulley on everything usually. Can you tell a difference in steering feel?

I've not driven an ep3 type r for a direct comparison with electric, but it does feel very taut, heavy-ish but in a reassuring way.

Getting back in the old mitsubishi makes the old girl feel very sloppy indeed handling wise compared to the teg!

I had a go at polishing the power steering pump up a bit when i had some free time. Didn't come up to bad actually.

Nice car man! Love the Night Kids sticker on the Mitsubishi. Though I feel an Emperors sticker would be more fitting :P

Amazing looking DC5's, have a 2005 Acura RSX Type-S the American cousin, love this car; ran it for a year successfully in our local autocross series enjoying every second of it. Car was a dream on the track and when the V-Tec kicked in sounded like a pack of wild dogs in a sack having a right old go at each other. Unfortunately the US version's do not have a limited slip differential so power application had to be somewhat gingerly in some corners and feel this was a serious limitation in a otherwise very capable chassis.
This leads me up to asking a few questions that I hope might get answered. Do the JDM spec ones have a LSD, and heavier rated bushings than what the Type-S US spec ones would have?
My car has about 225,000 miles on it and is my daily driver, also a Milano Red but unfortunately more a Milano pink shade. With this being said, the car is begging for some love. Would like to throw some paint on it and change the emblems to the Honda emblems as pictured in thread, secondly would also like to get bushings that would be an upgrade over what is available for the Type-S that we have over here. Any referrals for sellers in the UK would be appreciated. Do have family in the UK that I can have parts posted to if needed.

Not too sure on the bushings, but yeah the JDM dc5 has a helical LSD as standard smile

So, had this beauty fitted by the chaps at Dream automotive on the weekend.

The noise is like no other induction kit i've ever had...it sounds insane on crossover. Looks rather pretty in the bay too.

Due to the box and cold air feed being right behind the glovebox, you get a fantastic soundtrack in the cabin.

FInally got around to having the wheels refurbished...after much deliberation I went with Honda silver, for that OEM look.

I toyed with champ white, or bronze or gunmetal, but I rather liked the silver wheels against the red.

Excellent job done by Herts Wheels, and was only £300 all in, not a bad price at all for the south east.

Also recently had the worn engine mount changed, and new front droplinks...1st to second gearchange is now much smoother with the new mount (old one was pretty much split clean in two), and the tegiwa intake is banging around much less now that the engine isn't rocking with every change.

I advise you to replace the intake hose with a silicone item. They split with age and the extra flex of the aftermarket intake doesn't help.
Mine had split and I didn't even realise.
