On the brake pedal, it's worth noting that most people can exert thier bodyweight in force on the pedal, however, a proper racing driver can exert about 160kgs of force, pressing against the back of the seat....
On a road car on road tyres, I'd rather the pedal yielded at those kind of forces than putting 800kg (5:1 pedal ratio) through the lugs on the brake master then into a very small area in the middle of the front bulkhead, which will be supporting most of the front suspension and steering rack.

On a single seated with slicks and aero and a dedicated small bulkhead it might seem more of a consideration. Surely?

I would love to see any progress since the last post!
So would I! but moving workshops and focussing on getting my TVR on the road has meant not a great deal has happened since!

I'm currently working on the front bulkhead, will post some updates in the next couple of days!

Any more progress on this?
Very little. 4-5 hours a day commuting and a particuarly chaotic house move (we where homeless from July-October) have eaten into my spare time a little. Not to fear, plans are afoot to get things going again!

I haven't forgotten this!

This mammoth task had to go on the backburner for a couple of years.

I spent a year commuting for 5 hours a day.
I got a puppy.
I finally got my own home with my other half. (lots of sorting that out).
I left my job at JLR and started this in August: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=92&t=1757185
https://www.facebook.com/AlexWheatleyAutomotiveEngineer/

The above is all going well and I've finally got some stability and time to revisit old projects!

Reading back really reignited my passion for this project (thats the point of these threads for me) and my love of the McLaren f1 hasn't wained 1 bit! If anyone hasn't seen this yet, you should... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EkYVXIWAPnc&t=2s

I think I'll slightly change my focus with a view to actually making the bits/assemblies as I go - but primarily still be CAD focussed, I really need to develop my skills. Some bits i'll just fabricate though.

I'm not promising fast progress. Just some progress.

Good to see this live again but that link seems dead?!
Yea for some reason PH seems to have killed the links.

Google 'Doug Demuro Mclaren F1' and 'Alex Wheatley - Automotive Engineer'

Things have moved on a little bit.

I now own (some) McLaren F1 bits!

Found someone selling some of the plaques as fitted to the side storage bin and the key surround and just above that. Got a framed set and some loose.

Also got a couple of badges....they're jewel like!

The plan is to:
1: Measure for scaling purposes (I can reference other things against these pieces)
2: Hang them on my wall and look at them.
3: I may consider producing replica's of the items not featuring the 'Mclaren' or 'F1' logos and sell them with some nice poster I could probably whip up to pay for future fun with this.

Any progress to update us on yet?
As per usual, I've been stupidly busy, but unfortunately not on this, starting a business.... https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

The dream hasn't died...it's just a slow burner

Things rumble on. Although there has been a slight shift in direction to play to my strengths. Lets just say I'm better being hands on.

(Not my work...but if it passes a validation study I'll use it)

Keep up the great work! The new CAD looks great!
Nothing too impressive. And that cad model is courtesy of a computer game.

I am however getting my home garage ready for an over-ambitious project.
