Afternoon all

I need to replace the clutch release bearing on my 1993 500 pre-serp.
Has anyone got any advice on which bearing to use - or not use?
Or should I just go to TVR Parts and buy the one listed there?

Cheers Andy

LT77, should be a metal carrier with this bearing (same as my SEAC) got mine from JE Developments (who also fitted the bearing for me) whilst lightening my flywheel. Think you can get a plastic carrier but it's crap

Not sure if this is the part you are looking for, but if so, yes definitely better in aluminium. I don't drive a TVR but use a Rover V8 with a T5 - the plastic ones just get munched far too quickly. Been running one of these for 2 years now with no problems .... hope it helps

T5 and LT77 use the same release bearing off a Rover SD1 3500, the bearing knocks off the carrier.

Thanks for the advice so far.

Its the actual bearing i'm interested in - is one make any better or more heavy duty than others?

Cheers Andy

You won't find one much cheaper than RaceTech Direct and you can trust them, plus its good to support TVR specialists when cost effective otherwise they'll disappear. The bearing was very common back in the day, part number GRB209.
Good Luck, Steve
