Yes it is a bit. I'd guess around 40-50kg as it took 3 packs with lots of small offcuts, it was just too tempting not to use.

Was hoping to get away without replacing the 55 profile tyres until they had worn Down. With a bit of weight back in the van it quickly became apparent this was a no go.

The tyres are just touching the inner wheel arch on the rears.

And as I want to be able to drive it next week these arrived in the post yesterday.

Rainsport 3's in 40 profile. Could have got 45's but these were £10 a tyre cheaper. Hopefully the ride won't be too harsh on them.

The floor is now in, less the trim. It was getting dark so the picture quality is crap, I'll take some more tomorrow.

Would a different set of springs or http://mad-suspension.co.uk/ helper springs be a better way that dropping tyre profile?
As it will be down lower again once all interior fitted.

Yes T30 but with the uprated front struts.

I've probably added no more than 150kg so don't know how it would be overweight.

Decided to do a few different bits today.

Got the wheels off, again. Managed to get all wheels and 4 new tyres in the back of the Volvo, well chuffed.

I left the old tyres at the garage in return for fitting the new ones, could have sold them for more but this way I don't have deal with ebay.

While they were off I changed the rear spring seats which I noticed last time were passed their best.

Literally a 10 minute job with the wheels off and my electric windy gun.

I also couldn't resist fitting the rear bumper, thought it would be less likely to get damaged on the van and the bulk of the heavy work is now done.

Tidied up a couple of other odd jobs too.

Took the van out this evening. It so much quieter. It has pretty much eliminated road noise, can't hear anything from behind me. The loudest noise is the rumble of the engine, had to turn radio 4 down haha.

Went straight to the nearest Hunter machine which happens to be at Kwik-Fit.

Rear camber is slightly out but there was nothing in the back. Paid a bit extra to get 8 free rechecks within the next 2 years so ill take it back once there's a bit more weight in it.

I paid for a Kwik Fit hunter alignment 3 weeks ago.

Had a puncture and it was obvious that the tracking was off.

New tyres fitted, and wheels aligned

MOT last week, failed on a wishbone ball joint. Had it replaced and another hunter alignment due to suspension work.

What was clear, now and in hindsite, is that the Kwik Fit technicians do not make small checks before alignment.

Also have another car, took this for new tyres last week, asked for wheel alignment. (On a hunter machine).

Within a few minutes mechanic told me not to waste my money at the moment as I have a broken spring. Fix that first.

Kwik fit have been in the news, at the moment I see why. However they are open on a Sunday

The technicians are hit and miss, I was watching on the screen they have linked to the hunter in the waiting room and he selected all the right settings.

Having thoroughly stripped and overhauled all 4 corners I'm fairly confident there should be no issues on that front.

Picked up the ply today and started cutting out the panels. Once I'd cut them out I gave them a coat of PVA to protect against moisture.

Unfortunately it was at that point my phone died so no pictures but I did get them carpeted and installed, well the offside atleast.

I still need to get the sliding door window in before I finish the carpeting.

What have you used to fix the ply in place in the van? Looks like it has some fixings attached but you carpeted over the factory holes I think?

The ply just has a few blobs of sealant. It's a good fit around the sides of the van so there's no where for it to really move to.

When driving it yesterday there were no creaks or groans from it.

Interesting, cheers for that!
