Hmmmm, seller doesnt know the car very well! Would need some serious checking. 280S but with 2.9 engine? Mentions electric windows...on a 280! G reg? Chrome bumper trims?
Interior looks pretty grubby.
Engine looks awful! From what little bits of the chassis can be seen then the rest of the unmaintained metalwork might well be a nightmare.
Dont like the sellers feedback or that he is keeping some information 'private' which makes it harder to check if honest.

Even less happy, the owner is apparently The Maya Trust, with website http://www.mayatrust.com/. But they are not a trust! The actual name is rather 'naughty'; The Maya Truste.
Think I would have stayed well clear of this one. Don't mind a bit of a tidy-up, but think this is ready for a full strip down and start again! And like you say, an S1 with a 2.9 engine? And were the spotlighted bonnets available at the time of S1's? Could it be a car that has had a front ender .......... new engine, bonnet??

It's not an S1. Lots of S' are listed down as 280S'. I've even seen a V8S registered as a 280S!
It's a late-S2, for my money. The fact he's actually stated it has a 2.8 engine is harder to defend though!
My S1 does not have a model on the v5 only TVR !! It's a late-S2, for my money. The fact he's actually stated it has a 2.8 engine is harder to defend though!
TVR didn't care less what they stated on the v5

I know. Mine's listed as...TVR didn't care less what they stated on the v5
Make: (blank)
Model: TVR280S (no spaces)
Not only does it make finding the thing on car report websites and the like difficult, it gives me an OCD stroke every time I see it. Couldn't they have got someone in the office who actually gave a fk to fill the forms out?
Austin, my ( very early first batch ) S1 was registered by TVR in 1987 as a Tasmin, body type: Sports, at the sane time as a batch of actual Tasmins.
After buying the S1 in 2011, I wrote to DVLA to get the model name on the V5 corrected to "280S". They said all they needed was a written declaration from the manufacturer. So no problem at all really, except the factory had closed and TVR had ceased to be 5 years previously.
So Austin remains a Tasmin to this day. But a really un-wedgelike curvaceous Tasmin.
Yes, in true TVR chaotic fashion, a complete enigma!

Maybe the new TVR could help here.? After buying the S1 in 2011, I wrote to DVLA to get the model name on the V5 corrected to "280S".
