I was quite surprised to find the aerial hitting the height restriction barriers in a multi storey car park - it really is unnecessarily long!

Removed the aerial and put it in the boot for now biggrin

I'm doing man maths to see if I can justify a £9500 spend on a Duster that has gotta do more than the 25mpg that my 1998 BMW 323 does and manage better on some of the tracks around here than my poor ol Beemer.

Then I can justify keeping my 2016 Mustang as a toy and take it off work duties and stop piling on the miles.

Or should I just sell the Mustang as I should get back what I paid for it even after a year of ownership, get a Duster, keep the BMW as a project and thus stop getting busted by the police all the time.

The facelift looks much improved, amusing to hear the salesman hadn't sold one before!

Solid purchase OP

It wasn't long ago that the Dacia brand was the new Skoda for abuse and badge snobbery, really nice to see some love thrown at the brand. My Stepway goes in for it's first MOT on Monday, 3 years old, 58,000 miles on the clock and a smile on my face everytime I drive it, once you are used to the body roll it's quite chuckable.

OP the Duster Access is a huge rarity due to it's base spec, but one many of us are considering as a 2nd Dacia.

By the way DaciaWorld is a relatively new Owners Club / Forum, it's run by owners and is organising meets around the country.

Love that you've bought the base spec, much respect!

But personally I'd have saved £4k and gone for a second hand one. Same spec (in fact has a radio) so very little difference between a 3yr old car and new (warranty aside).

Someone needs to buy new cars at some point else these "bargain" used ones don't exist ;-)

I was all for buying a 2013/14 model until someone on this forum mentioned rust. Something about the early cars having been built in India but the newer ones are built in Europe.

Good call, avoid the pre facelift Dusters, some (not all) Indian built ones had some issues with quality control.

It's only the Indian built stuff to avoid, and supposedly the rust is 'only' cosmetic (and the dealer should fix it FOC if and when it appears) but I still wouldn't risk it. All the facelift ones are made in Romania for the UK market so no issues with the later models.

I'm finding myself strangely drawn to the Dacia Dokker now - the 'Stepway' model with the 1.2 TCe engine isn't much more than £12k at today's daft exchange rate (£10k or so at a more sensible rate) and that has nav, cruise and aircon.

http://www.dacia.ch/de/dacia-modellpalette/dokker/

It's made in Morocco and basically a cut-price (and cooler, I think) Berlingo/Kangoo alternative. Sadly for UK Dacia fans it's LHD only though

We're now a two Datch family. Ran my Logan estate for a couple of years, but got it permanently borrowed by g/f for horseyculture. Nothing has broken.

There was a nice used Volvo V40 for sale at my local dealer, or a new Sandero Ambiance triple/turbo Tce90 for the same price. The Sandero won with the three year warranty. White paint and A/C. Why pay more? :-)

Prices rises due in April says Dacia Forum, along with possible upgrade to 5 year warranty.

One other car we don't get here (along with Dokker) is the Logan Sedan. Wat a looker!

Stepway passed its first MOT Friday, no advisories tongue out

Also want a Dokker but I think the reason it wont be brought to our market is it would eat into Renault and Merc sales.

Shame as it looks smart in Stepway form.

I think the Dokker is only made in LHD form and probably simply not worth setting up for RHD production with predicted UK volumes. They're massively outnumbered by Kangoos here (the weapon of choice for Portuguese cleaning ladies) as they aren't available as an auto.

Ay. Also some say that cost to change to RHD wouldn't be justified by sales. (yet)

Here's one that got away, the 2012 Renault Dacia Logan sedan proto-render:

First trip to the dealer later this week to have some rattling trim checked out and the door mech/seals on the NSF door because it's a bit reluctant to close properly sometimes.

Minor stuff, hopefully easily rectified
