Got this from a work mate yesterday. He was saying how his girlfriend was fed up of how much time and money he spends on it and she wants them to have her Dads old Rover 25. Said it had to be gone by the end of the week so he was just going to scrap it. I thought hang on that's far to good to scrap so cheekily offered him the £100 the scrappys would have given him.
So what have i got for my money? Well it's a pretty tidy IS200 SE with 3 months Mot left, 160k on the clock, its lowered on 6 month old coilovers with some special camber inducing front suspension arms that make the front wheels look collapsed in. It's got a Jan speed back box and a ridiculous air intake system on it that in sure does nothing to add power. It did have a massive sound system but now has a non working head unit and no speakers. Been an Se it has an Electric tilt and slide sunroof, Half leather heated seats. and some other stuff and it all seems to still work.
So here it is as i got it.
Had to spend the night outside my garage as it was too low to go on my driveway at the front of my house.

1st priority this morning was to pop the back wheels off and raise the suspension 20mm. coilovers have only been on there since November but were seized solid. Much WD40 and swearing later and i was able to get it round the front of the house and could once again get my motorbikes out of the garage.
Next i began to De-Barry it a bit by removing the Black film on the lights and replaced an exhaust clamp that had obviously made contact with the road at some point. Gave it a wash as well and it cleaned up rather nicely.

That's a billy bargain! I see it went through it's last MOT with no advisories so fingers crossed. And if it doesn't, Ebay sees silly money for these even on MOT failure. Good work.

That's good to know as he's lost the current Mot cert. Have every other one with it though. rolleyes
Going to do a few minor jobs then punt it out. Not even going to bother driving it as already have a car.

I always had a bit of a soft spot for these. Not sure why because the lights always liked they belonged in a Halfords shop window.

Yes only 150bhp and around 30 mpg i think. Surprised to see its a straight 6. Thought the 200 was a 4 pot and the 300 a 6 pot.

The UK spec IS200 is a 6cyl, the JDM car has a 4 cylinder (Beams) engine.

This is absolutely ridiculous for £100!

I mean....i'm not keen on it in it's current form...but come one!

Makes my £399 S Type look extortionate!
