I am trying to trace the whereabouts of a beautiful blue/grey 1953 R Type Bentley with a Young's Special Body, Reg. No. NLN 915?

This car was owned by my father for 20 years from 1965 and was previously owned by Lord Lucan (who apparently drove it to his wedding) and by William Shand Kydd, Princess Diana's uncle.

The car won some prestigious awards, including the Concours d'Elegance at Kensington, and I have several items of memorabilia (rosettes, trophies, manuals etc) which I would love to reunite with the car if the current owner would be interested in them.

I believe the car might have been sold to someone in Italy in the mid 80s, but am not sure about this.

Any information concerning this lovely old car would be most welcome.

Thank you.

Have you spoken to the Bentley Drivers Club?

I did contact the Rolls Royce Enthusiasts' Club because my father was a member for a long time, but they had no record of the car or current owner and although very pleasant, were really only interested in items associated with the actual mechanics of the vehicle.

My father absolutely loved the Bentley and would spend endless amounts of time with his head under the bonnet - when he wasn't polishing it! Being an engineer, he always preferred the company of RREC members, as he felt they were true enthusiasts rather than just classic car owners. He was, however, a member of the Bentley Drivers' Club, so I will contact them as you suggested.

Many thanks for your helpful reply.

There's a poster on here called Bizzarrini, mostly to be found plugging the (awesome) book he wrote for charity on this thread: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

He's owned all manner of classics over the years and might be someone to point you in the direction of someone who might have some info?
