Bit strange how someone has looked up weather its on the road or not but hey ho .yeah its off road at the mo because im currently in the process of turbo charging it and don't see the point in wasting money on insurance and tax when the cars in bits and undrivable. again once im done turbo charging it going too need an oil cooler and there's no room so i don't see why it offends so many when alot of cars have intercoolers hanging out the front which mine will be having also im not hear to argue or cause arguments just hear too make friends and learn stuff hopefully haters are going too hate that's fine i don't need too talk down too anyone too feel big about myself so once again cheers
So you don't want to waste money on tax/insurance but are turbocharging a 10 year old Peugeot?

If the car will be in a non-driveable state for a few months, not wasting money on insuring it makes sense no?

You're taking it well to be fair. I looked at the mot state as I couldn't believe it would pass with that cooler, and I note it hasn't yet.

Tbh I do have an issue with the cooler there, not only does it look daft but people coukd be injured by just walking too close to it, let alone if it was hot.

Oil cooler function over form or athstetics weather it looks daft too you is your opinion and your entitled i think it looks good and different and everyone will have there opinion as opinions are like arse holes everyone's got one , cut yourself burn yourself too be honest should nt be that close too my property and as regards mot as I've stated before I've gone too my local fully vosa approved mot depo and its within the law fully legal ,as other people on here stated they no of other cars that's had external oil coolers because THERES NO ROOM under the bonnet and they passed mots with no issues because its legal end of. in another month or two it will be boosted i will post dyno print outs etc for those who are interested and i choose too have a 10 year old car and choose too spend money on it too make it the best it can be why is that a problem as its a rare car not many left in the country and certainly not in this condition and one day will become a classic im truly shocked at the hostile response off people they wouldn't dream of addressing a stranger they meet in a pub in this manner but feel its OK too be a key board warrior i would like too say im in no way bothered by hostile comments too me or my car it is like water off a ducks back and i don't whined up that way i actually laugh because it shows me for what people your showing me and for everyone too see that your jealous and small minded too try and mock a stranger and his car so carry on if it makes you feel big but alot of people myself included are laughing at your childishness cheers folks

lol, nope. The GTI-6 became a classic because it was highly rated and respected, The
307 was never given this accolade.

Really? Are you one those people that needs 'very hot' printed on their coffee cup in case you throw it on yourself? Won't someone think of the children. Ffs biggrin

OP, you'll find PH isn't the right place to post about modding cars, it's full of people who love to put down in an attempt to make themselves seem 'cool'. Go find a smaller, dedicated site and you'll probably get suggestions rather than st.

I almost posted that meme myself when I read it back, but I do think it's valid. Can just see some kid walking too close and touching it but it's okay, they shouldn't be so close to his property.

hehe

I can't believe I wrote it either, but I just cannot fathom how it can be legal to place something like that, there.

Save anyone else doing it, here it is

Not everyone knows WTF an oil cooler is, and would expect there to be something scalding hot on the outside of a car.

Everyone on PH would just mildly chuckle or nod (dis)approvingly, but we arent everyone

I put my oil cooler behind my (effectively) fog light grills and removed the fog lights.

Much better than having it out the front of the car, less likely to be kicked / damaged.

People like to mock and generally be aholes on here which I don't agree with but in this case I can sort of understand it.
Like being in a school playground lol.

Admittedly it's some time since I tested a car and longer still since I was trained but the whole 'sharp edge' thing related to a sharp edge caused by corrosion as opposed to things bolted to the car. As long as the cooler isn't rusty it should pass.

Type approval and taste are a whole different ball game though! biggrin

Surely there's room to fit the oil cooler else where? How does everyone else manage it? It's not like every car you see with an oil cooler has it slapped on the front bumper, is it?

I don't care what you do to your car but...

Too;

1.to a higher degree than is desirable, permissible, or possible; excessively:

"he was driving too fast"

2.in addition; also:

"is he coming too?"

Does the car even need an oil cooler in the first place? My GT-FOUR is running 100hp over standard and gets very toasty on track days yet have no issues with oil temperatures with the tiny OEM oil cooler. Sure it gets hot but not enough to cause major concern. That slab on the front of your pug is almost double the size of my gearbox oil cooler. Over cooling oil can have an even worse effect than oil that is too hot.

I would have thought it was pretty obvious but first I would be data logging engine oil temperatures first before even contemplating an oil cooler.

How do you know it will need an oil cooler until you have actually turbocharged it? It is basically the same thing as saying I am going to teneriffe and am going to wear socks with my sandals. You have no idea until you get there and feel the temperature. That thing you have got on the front is what at least a 30 row 128 matrix. I would honestly like to know what your engine temperatures are like now.
