Surely you could have found somewhere else to mount that oil cooler?

Show us some more pics! Got any dyno print outs? What's the estimated powaaah?

Oh dear............ That's very McDonald's car park with that silly oil cooler. I'm sure you wouldn't get that mot'd. Apart from the fact it's sharp it will also be rather warm as well.

not liking the cooler either , ideal place for a stone to go through it and kill the engine or some chav would damage it when parked

I've read all you guys messages and some made me laugh in a good way epic thanks too each and every one of you 😉

The oil cooler is on the outside as i personally don't mind the look there's no room under the engine bay and if there was its too hot which would defy the point of the oil cooler it carnt go behind the grill as the rad fans are there and it could cause fouling and others issues so a bit of JDM inspiration came too mind too put it there the reason I've oil cooled it is too future proof the mod in the hope of turbo charging it 😉

The ramair filter isn't fully finished im working on a fully partitioned gold heat sheild too box it in and what you can't see on the pics is the cold air feed hid behind the front grill going underneath the filter venting the air

I've done all the work on the car myself from fitting the cams too coil over's colding the bay etc etc but im no expert just a novice home mechanic / enthusiast and i don't no everything believe me and genuinely don't no if the injectors can be upgraded despite all I've done that's why im here on forums too learn the oil cooler isn't an mot failure either as i looked into it with my local garage / mot depo but thank you all so so much for your kind comments and maybe fluffy bunny is more appropriate as that muscle reaper is mean as hell cheers guys

Is be surprised if it passes an MOT with the cooler exposed like that
A mate of mine used to have a mk2 Fiesta with the oil cooler hanging off the front like that. There wasn't really room for it under the bonnet, as the 1.6 8V had been replaced with a 2.1 16V with a turbo and an intercooler between the front of the block and the front of the car.

It passed an MOT. And was insanely quick.
I can't see how it was a genuine MOT

He got more abuse though, everyone was falling over themselves about how cool an unmodded original TT is and how much of a shame it is to swap the steering wheel etc..

No surprise to see people not bothered about a 307 getting some questionable styling mods.

Does the car even need an oil cooler in the first place? My GT-FOUR is running 100hp over standard and gets very toasty on track days yet have no issues with oil temperatures with the tiny OEM oil cooler. Sure it gets hot but not enough to cause major concern. That slab on the front of your pug is almost double the size of my gearbox oil cooler. Over cooling oil can have an even worse effect than oil that is too hot.

I would have thought it was pretty obvious but first I would be data logging engine oil temperatures first before even contemplating an oil cooler.

the TT was gash, this is a bit gash, there is a different. The TT was styled by Stevie Wonder.

TBH the pictures don't look bad, the colour is a grey blue, remove oil cooler and looks like you have modded in the right area.

Don't rise to it or defend yourself. You're a car enthusiast and have been tinkering, just like lots of us here. You've taken some pretty crappy comments well. Just ignore them is my advice. Unfortunate actually that PH doesn't seem to be the forum for motoring enthusiasts any more. But still, there's way more specialist forums out there so it's not an issue. Still a great place to come and belittle some strangers.

So you don't want to waste money on tax/insurance but are turbocharging a 10 year old Peugeot?
