Aston Martin DBX - my journey
Discussion
So after only driven 80 miles or so since the car was returned to me last week, surprise surprise. A misfire!
Amazing that Aston had the car for two weeks and couldn’t find or replicate anything.
This is the 3rd time now the misfire has happened and it’s always when the car gets turned on when it’s been sat in the sun.
Car sounds noticeably upset and it shudders a lot around 1-2k rpm.
Aston Manchester said they didn’t have anyone to collect my car today so put me onto Aston Assistance who were going to recover the car.
Assistance said they would collect the car today at 4:30…. They didn’t and at 6:00 I chased them and was told it will now be tomorrow.
I’m so done with this.

That sounds awful..
In case you have not I would get in touch with Works, call them and explain, if you PM me I can give you details of the right people there in case you don’t have them. I am sure they would collect it and sort it and they are so factory connected I would be amazed if they don’t sort it.
Their customer service is always exemplary and they will not want to lose such a repeat customer.

Thanks for the tip, I have been told there are two master techs coming from the factory to look at the car on Thursday morning. Beyond frustrating Nath.
If I am honest, I am not entirely surprised it has reappeared, despite being with the dealer for that long.
Let’s hope you can get something permanently sorted from this thread.
I hope so! This thread is on Aston’s radar now. Which totally wasn’t the point of it originally but when you get messed about so much, I promised to share my journey and I have!If I am honest, I am not entirely surprised it has reappeared, despite being with the dealer for that long.
Let’s hope you can get something permanently sorted from this thread.

Have you captured this occurring on video? Deeply frustrating when you just want to enjoy a vehicle that, presumably, you continue to pay for whilst it's sat at the garage!
I have yes.So I received a call at 8:20 this morning from Aston assistance saying they would be with me at 8:57.
Another call at 9:00 from the actual recovery company to tell me no it will be 90 mins from now roughly 10:30.
And then I received a txt at 10:45 saying they are delayed an hour.
It’s 11:45 and I’m not hopeful.
Urgh.

Sounds like Aston making promises without asking the Recovery Company then the Recovery Company making promises without asking the actual driver.
Must be deeply frustrating.
Lets hope the factory super techs can sort it.
I predict a complete engine loom replacement
Agreed! It’s the cherry on top right now.Must be deeply frustrating.

Honestly I would go around the dealer and get in touch with the factory now. They are in the end still a small firm and will take this very seriously. When I had similar issues with a DB9 I had a few years ago works sent me another one to drive until it was fixed. In the end the issues brought us closer and now I have my third AM and close to buying a 707 myself to replace my v8 defender. Haha watch them do that and the misfire return!

This is it. They have a real opportunity to make everything right!Interesting you went from V8 Defender to 707.
As that’s probably where I would go if the 707 went.
I haven’t gone that way yet, in discussion now with works.
Be aware I am on my second v8 defender in 2 months having made them buy the first one back after prolonged gearbox issues.
The Def carpathian is wonderful but the DBX is in another league.
My new one has 300 miles on it now let me know if you want a swap LOL
