Got to 790 miles before filling it earlier. Still showing 23 miles left but decided not to chance it. So without the bits of running about during the week, I can see me getting 800 miles between fill ups quite regularly.
It’s just taken 60 litres, or a little over 13 gallons. So a real 60mpg. Happy with that. Added the Oilsyn to the tank too, just prior to filling up.

Sounds like it’s running well and tearing you well.

Best part of 80 miles is impressive really especially when I get excited at a smidge over 400 in my 335i. laugh

Another vote for the ATE ceramic pads.

Great car op, looks great. They are very very frugal.

Remember taking my 2012 E91 318d fully loaded with winter tyres and roofbars on a steady run from Cheshire, UK to Chamonix, France on one tank a few years back.

Was around 900 miles, thought that was very impressive, still have it and has reached 150,000 miles now, and seems to be getting even better now it's loosened up.

I’ve enjoyed reading your write ups. Hope you have more success than I had with mine. So many faults with the 320d: Turbos going, ECU’s, chains etc etc. I had most go with mine even with meticulous servicing and care. The final straw was being stuck after the finest dusting of snow and then sliding down my drive way after some snow and hitting the house. I was never a fan of the poor handling neither with the slightest bit of rain. Was so twitchy oven with the finest rubber fitted.
Hope you have more luck. Certainly a lovely looking car and you really are taking care of it.

Remap finally completed on Monday this week. Simon at Emaps did it in the end. Totally transformed how it drives now. It’s like a different car. Went out afterwards and data logged it, the new intercooler has made a massive difference in intake temps. Well worth the money.

Out with the old.

In with the new.

Big upgrade there, that stock intercooler is tiny! I wonder if it's the same one fitted as standard to the 335i biggrin

Having driven BMWs of all shapes/sizes/engines, including the E90/E91, this is not normal.

Something not right there... My pal and his Dad have run E91 320D and 330Ds for years now and they drive to & from Germany a LOT, in all weathers and never any handling issues at all, and they drive them hard!

He came to me. My mate had his F31 320D done at the same time so we did a bit of a deal wink
Big difference on F31 too. Loads better now. It’s how they should have been from the factory. Mine took a bit longer as he removed the ECU from it. Mates car is manual so just a basic engine map.

It now behaves more like the twinscroll turbo I had in the Legacy. Almost no lag now from low down and no need to change down to 2nd on slower corners. I found previously that using 3rd would leave it in a dead spot and you’d need to change to 2nd to get moving. It feels more petrol like now. Glad I got it done. It’s a really big improvement over standard.

Tyres arrived and mounted now. Will try and fit them later today once the rains stops. Will jet wash/scrub all the arches while the wheels are off. I’ll then give the ones coming off another ceramic coating before storing them away.

Suspension upgrade time. The Koni/H&R that’s fitted at the moment is just too low/firm for daily duties. The under tray catches on nearly all speed bumps and it’s not really suitable for the current state of the roads. Nice on a smooth road surface, crashy on everything else.
Incoming, Alpina D3 Biturbo kit. I downloaded the Alpina catalogue and compiled the numbers which comprises of the following.
Front shocks: 31316786013/4
Dampers: 31336783481
Gaskets: 3133138
Spacers: 3133137
Guide supports: 3133131/2
Rear shocks: 33526772926
Dampers: 33506773629

Just need to confirm the springs. Sachs are showing as 993256 and 994476.

I’ll match them up with new Sachs top mounts too.

Sounds a plan; one of the reasons why I went for the B4s and Eibach pro-kit springs for my F31 as the likes of the Koni's / Bilstein B6s/B8s etc would just be too firm for my liking, more so with how rough/unloved/untreated the local roads are to me; even our cul de sac is bad currently and South Ribble council absolutely useless as fixing anything!

I've gone with Sachs top mounts too via Autodoc; they had 47% off the other day! Keep your eyes peeled

Yes, the Alpina kit uses the B4’s. Should give a much nicer ride. Not even the motorways have a good, even surface now. The M6 between Warrington and Standish is shocking.
Will check for the Sachs items. The VW garage across the road from me does me trade rates, so might be as cheap to get them from him. Will cross reference the numbers tomorrow and make sure I get the right items.

Yeah; the B roads around me now are horrendous; my Mum & Dad's road just off Cuerdale Lane is amazingly bad; they tried to fix it last summer, bin lorries came 2 days later and ripped all the tarmac out; they've not been back since even though all the neighbours ahve reported it, time & time again

New parts look well to; mine have started going on today biggrin
