I'm sure my lust for a Fulvia is driven by having owned one of these since the age of 5 or so ... smile

That is a cool Polistil model I vaguely remember them back in the day though I don’t think i actually had one.
Must be very rare now!

Well a little bit of good news and a bit of "sub-optimal" news.....

The car was trailered from the sellers' place to NY and is in a warehouse there ready for shipment. So that is positive, and a short distance on the map turns out to be quite a long distance in real life....

Anyhow, I sent the title documents to NY by Fedex. They picked them up within 15 minutes, and I was impressed. They made it all the way to Stansted, it seems and then..............

.....nothing. They have lost the title document/envelope. I went to my local depot and also emailed a director. As a result of the latter they are sending me updates as and when they say they would but no sign yet of the envelope. I am somewhat cross about that.

On the plus side the seller is willing to help and apply for a duplicate, but it tends to take 2-4 weeks.....

Well after a bit of foot stomping FedEx did after all find the title doc and the car is now on a ship. ETA 17 June at Southampton, by which time the edge of my seat will be a bit more worn…..

Well it arrived two or three weeks ago. Very happy indeed with the condition of it from a first look. A track rod and a couple of non working lights and it should pass the MOT.

Well the latest is that it now has an MOT and I have sent off the registration docs to the DVLA
As it is MOT exempt I wasn’t clear whether it requires one before applying for registration but this method should be ok I hope!

Such an elegant car, it looks great from every angle. You better add some hand-tooled Italian loafers and Poltrona Frau driving gloves for the driver to that list;)

Always loved these.
Truely epic design, just looks perfect, with clever engineering. Looking forward to this thread.

It’s just stunning. Such an appealing little car, even forgetting the rally heritage.

What a fantastic purchase, congratulations. I went to Prescott Italia earlier in the year and enjoyed watching a Fulvia go up the hill. I parked my Fiat 124 next to it in the paddock. Lovely cars, bet you can't wait to drive it now the sun's out.

Lovely cars these!
Good friend had one a long time ago, when I was into Alfas, early - mid 90s.
Had been a nicer car to drive than my Alfetta GTV, was slightly jealous back then. In these times you drove them like you stole it, i.e. the way they intended to. Just lovely. Rode in tandem to Italy lots of times, was fun.
They are still reasonably priced, surprisingly.
Wonder what the parts situation is, somehow I'm tempted to have one, preferably in metallic brown.

Thanks chaps. Parts situation these days is fine for the most part, unless you need some specific trim items etc. But nothing like the MG availability.
Indeed in my teens/early twenties we did drive them “enthusiastically “. Looking forward to experiencing driving it again although I have lost that feeling of immortality that I had back then!
Bangerhoarder, great name !
