I am sad at the lack of spare change when clearing out the car. I did find a portable phone battery pack though.

Re Essex Porsche specialists, there's Porsche Specialist Services in Havering-atte-Bower, near Brentwood/Haroldwood. They're very busy at the moment, which must be a good sign.

There's also one up near Braintree, but I forget the name.

Ta I’ll check them out.

Sorted the headlight issue, the bulb is a D1S for future reference. On the way to the car meet this morning I also lost m the front indicator on the same side. I had a hunch that it was a loose connection. I made sure that the headlight was seated all the way back and bingo the problem went away.

Saved myself £80 hehe

This week I need to do an oil service.

The panoramic sunroof is hosed, nothing much happens when I attempt to use it, the shade stops above 1/4 out as well. I’m going to use the manual override and ensure the drains are clear at least.

I'd be tempted to leave it as is - the last thing you want going into winter is a roof that's stuck partially open and I suspect it could require a specialist to fix some of the potential issues: £££!!

I don’t think so, mine was an eBay auction and poor impulse control.

So annoyed at myself, service parts came early and the weather is looking damp for the rest of the week so cracked on when the oil change.

The oil was hot and so the viscosity flow rate was too much for my drain pan, cue oil all over the place. I grabbed some sharp sand from the lots playground but I’m now worried about it having contaminated something. (It was quite windy)

There’s currently 6 litres of fresh oil in the car, I’m very tempted to order a fresh filter and oil, drain what’s in there to remove any chance of contamination.

So you poured the old oil on the floor, and threw sand in the new oil? bounce

I had a quick stalk, it’s the same car. I looked at it and dithered. To the victor goes the spoils. Fortune favours the bold etc etc

Yeah, I had old sheets down but the volume was quite a lot hehe so sand was needed. What I should have done was put the drain plug back in and then sorted out the mess.

I’ll get it all cleaned up tomorrow morning, drain the oil, pop in a new filter and then fill back up. £60 of oil is cheaper than a new engine.

E.P.S is very good. Highly recommended. No connection apart from being a happy customer

Even after a deep clean, removing the smell of dog or smoke is still unlikely. It would have to a very light smell for an odour bomb to work.

You need an ozone machine - they are under £90 on Amazon.

Yup the sprays were only ever a temp solution till I can figure out what’s next.

This is the aftermath of the oil change, I’ve put down some swarfega driveway cleaner after taking this photo:

Not had a chance to look at the results yet though due to the weather.

I'm collecting my Turbo S this Saturday. Are you attending any meets in the near future? Would be interesting to meet up!

Glad to see another bargain Cayenne on the boards, my S is going well at the moment after costing me a fair bit in the first year of my ownership. Bookmarked to see how it goes!

Re oil changes, mine has 2% fuel dilution after 5,000 miles, so keep those intervals short!

Yup I think I’ll be dropping this oil after a few thousand, fuel dilation is something I’d never heard of before getting a Cayenne, is it a Porsche thing?

Needs a full interior steam clean to get rid of the smells.

With my deerstalker on, a la Sherlock Holmes, am I right in thinking the original Cayenne you were interested in belonged to some bloke who likes a red MX5?

Anyway, kudos with this. My recent purchase also stank and I spent £130 on a Bissell Spotclean Pro and some of their pet detergent and then did two rounds of a Holts Aircon bomb and it did the job. Carpets and mats had two goes over and then one bomb, then I did seats and door cards and did the second bomb. Now it just stinks of Fabsil because the roof immediately leaked and made everything wet again.

AutoAlex? Yes indeed. Sadly his Cayenne needed a lot more work than either of us expected.
