The drain pipes are in the footwells. They block at the bottom and then the water backs up and leaks into the car through the roof.
Be very careful if you intend to use compressed air to unblock the drain pipes. I would say avoid that method if at all possible. The pipes sit inside rubber grommets that plug into the body work and drain outside.

If you dislodge one of the pipes from that grommet the water will drain inside the car and they are a PITA to get back in.
The drain pipes block at the bottom where the plugs are pinched. You literally have to pull them out from the rubber grommets in the body work to unblock them. Cut the pinches off the bottom to stop them blocking again. They are tricky to get back in at first but just use to screwdriver or similar to push the grommet through and then pull it back to seal. There it no alternative.

If the are properly blocked, pour hot water and soap solution down the sunroof drain holes to help clear. Use a small screwdriver to unblock the drain plugs. Should be a stream of muddy/sandy slurry. Have a towel ready. Once you've squeezed all the crud out, pour a little fresh water down the drain holes to confirm they are now clear.
I maybe barking up the wrong tree, but could using a cheap sink and drain unblocker assist? After all, their job is to break down crud stopping water free flowing through pipes

Possibly as part of preventative maintenance. If they are already blocked though, I think you'd need to dig them out. You'd have to lift the carpet anyway to remove all the water and dry the car out.

Cleaned out the front drains today. Passenger side was blocked and a lot of water came out.

Also removed about 400g of mud.

I still need to do the rears but I had trouble locating them, most likely will need to remove the wheels & arch liner for better access.

I’ll probably whack a dehumidifier in there as well.

Have you lifted the footwell carpets to check for water yet? The insulation is like a sponge and will hold litres before the carpet is wet.

I changed the brakes on my 2007 S last night and noticed that the rear wishbones were completely rotten. Worth inspecting sooner than later if not done so already.

Not yet, I’ve poked at them and they don’t feel wet underneath at least but not gone as far as to remove the carpet. My hope is that I just caught them in time.

Next on the list is a gearbox oil change, I’m on the fence about spark plugs & coil packs. I probably should get them done but there’s no codes and everything feels fine.

Those drains are the external ones. All the interior drains at the front flow into tank in front of the bulkhead. Then drain out via the ones you've cleared.

You need to pull the carpet and clear the hoses that drain into the tank. They are the ones that will flood the inside of the car if they are blocked.

This was on my watchlist

Tell me you didn't pay £10,000 for it?

I thought it would sell for 3-4k due to the galactic miles but gobsmacked it went for £10k

Less than that but still a chunk of change, it’s a rare ish car. The closest one other than that I could find was £13k (similar service history/ownership with 60k etc).

I decided to take a risk that £4k saving might cover me for inevitable breakdowns. Also preferring a well used (but maintained) car is better than one that has stood around for a while.

If it were a bog standard turbo I wouldn’t have bid that high.

Odd issue today, I had reset the sun shade so it went the full length of the pano roof. But as as soon as I drive it retracts and then doesn’t want to do anything until I reset it again?

ION my code reader arrives tomorrow, that will be a fun first scan!

Fingers crossed not too much rears its head.

Shiny new Xtrons head unit, it comes with the CANBUS, optical & steering wheel adapters. It’s a bit more wiring than I’d expected so I’m now on the hunt for a car audio shop in Essex to install it.

Brief look at some codes this weekend, finally cleared the service now oil service warning which was getting really annoying!

There’s another for a CPS, but I suspect that may be a warning that the timing chain may be coming to the end of its life. I’ll give ADH a call in the morning and see when they can take a look.

I hope it’s just a sensor but at 162k it’s probably about time it gets changed. I’m not planning on selling the car for a long time so the cost doesn’t really bother me.

I’ll get them to have a look at the car overall to see if there are any other issues.

I purchased off the Bay of E a car drain cleaner. It’s effectively a 5 metre length of very strong thin wire cable with a finger loop on one end and a very thin bottle brush on the other. It works very well and 5 minutes spent is well worthwhile.

Yeah I got the same sort of thing, it was a little useful on the fender drains but I think it will be really useful for when I can get the sun roof open.

Googling for Porsche specialists atm:

ADH, Porsche Independent specialist, RS Automotive.

RS are local to me which is handy.

One of the codes was a poorly battery, so I've ordered a replacement for collection tomorrow - its a big old unit thats for sure but with winter fast approaching it makes sense to swap it out.
