I treated the QV to a good clean and polish yesterday, as it hadn't rained for 2 days.. thrilled with how it's looking!

Still really enjoying it, also the little waves from other Alfa owners is always fun!

Also I fitted some new Cloverleaf badges, as the originals had faded.

Also this arrived today, as I had broken the current mesh.
, it should be fun to fit.. I have to take the bumper off to do it. I do have some night breaker headlights to fit at the same time, as it's said to be easier to remove the lights to change the bulbs, whilst the bumper is off

Just a little job today. I hate having a garages name at the bottom of the numberplate, as it looks a bit messy. Also, it didn't look quite right

I did try to take off the plinth, but the bumper is raised underneath, so wouldn't accommodate a UK plate annoyingly!

This is the best I could do, it seems to fit better with the front of the car now

Looking good, I need a new daily and did briefly look at these again but out of my budget at the moment.

I must admit, I did spend more than I had planned to on this one!

No problem all, they were from this seller on eBay,

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/175205789572?mkcid=16&a...

They are slightly larger than the originals, but I couldn't justify the price of the original ones eek

I am slightly concerned about it to be honest! But looking at various YouTube videos, it doesn't look too bad, and I've found all the various screws/and have the right tools for it,

I've set aside Friday morning to undertake the job.. As it will leave lots of time to try to reattach it.

I'll make sure to post how it goes smile

I really like the look of your car. I'm sure at some point I will need a 5 door car again and like how these are unusual and a really attractive car. How do you find load carrying and passenger space overall?

Thank you. I've been really pleased with it. I did want a Mk7/7.5 GTi, but these did seem cheaper, and still fun to drive. Nice that you don't see many around, and when you do, you usually get a wave.

I've been impressed with the storage, the rear head room or leg room isn't as good as it could be due to the shape, and the seats it has. But boot wise, oh swallowed everything we needed for a week in Tenby, 2 prams, and various suitcases. And 1 and a 4 year old.

No problem at all. The originals were a bit of a faff to remove, and to get rid of the stubborn residue. The replacements seem a great quality, and quick shipping as well.

I'm planning the bumper at some point tomorrow morning, as I won't need the car for a bit, just incase I can't get it back ob again.. hehe

Lovely part of the world that! And a great drive to Dartmouth too. It is nice to have something a bit different I think, I don't think I've seen a QV since I've had mine.

That wasn't very fun hehe I started at 9.30, and didn't finish until 12.00 ish

First I had to remove these bolts underneath, and then some hidden Torx screws

Then some Phillips screws in the whe arch, and again with a hidden Torx screw..

Next were some T55 Torx on top of the engine bay

From the video I was following, there should be little catches on the side and by the headlights, these just popped out

After a bit of shuffling, there was success!

The grille wasn't too bad to remove, although I had to cut this little part off

Onto the headlights
This was much easier once the headlight had been removed, instead of them in situ

And the dipped beam LED

And indicators

One done and one not, to show the difference, they're not the brightest that the company do

https://youtu.be/dieKX2ecd2s?si=-NH5SCRUzQxszs7Q

Putting the bumper back on was a lot trickier, I couldn't get the under tray to line up correctly, and the clips at the top
I managed it in the end though!

And with the headlights on

The new grille did come with a new badge, but I wanted to keep the gold original on, so I switched them around.. I do like the look of the new ome though, but the rest of the badges on ybe car wouldn't match then.

Certainly not as bad as I thought it would be, but I'm hoping I don't have to change the bulbs again for a while!!

Those bulbs look loads better. Where did you source the LEDs from?

Thank you. I like that the dipped beam matches with the LED Daytime running lights now.

The indicators were from Ali express, and the dipped beams were from Amazon

Both were recommended on the Giulietta Facebook page, which was good.

They do a brighter more expensive one, but these should be fine and certainly better than the originals.

There's no error codes either. I have seen that the bulbs can be changed with the bumper in situ, if they go wrong in the future, at least I can do that..

Another quick update,

After looking at the car for a while, since I re fitted the bumper, the gap between the bonnet looked too large, or not quite right,

Looking on the Giulietta Facebook page, one of the members said underneath the T55 Torx screws that I had to remove/replace, theres another T55 torx that you can adjust to bring the bumper back in line, these must have moved as I was undoing the others, after a bit of adjusting, I think I have it right now

This is before, just over the grill, you can see the gap

This is after

My numberplate also was peeling off, as the plinth is slightly curved, I heated up the numberplate with the OHs hair dryer, and bent it into shape

And after some research, this is said to be pretty strong

It certainly looks better than it did, it was peeling off from the far side, we will see how long it holds! I've tried to take it off, and it it doesn't seem like it's going far

The car is asking for an oil change now, it may well have been done in the last service, but the oil light has to be reset separately apparently, I'll get it to my local garage to get them to do the change, that's not something I'll attempt..

Still really pleased with it as a daily, it does seem to get a lot more compliments than I thought it would.

What a ballache rofl I thought removing the wheel arch liner was a hassle for my old Evo bulb changes!

Looks nicely updated now though so well worth it.

Started looking at Giulietta's again but realised it looks like all the Q-V are auto's? So now looking at QV-Line 1.4 170's

They did do the Cloverleaf, pre 2014, basically the same 1.75, with 235 hp instead of 240, these came with a manual

The 1.4 170 Multi air is a great engine as well, and also very good on fuel.

It was certainly a job I wish I hadn't started hehe

Getting the bumper off wasn't too bad, but when I couldn't seem to get it back on again, I was starting to worry, also the chap in the YouTube video I was following seemed to do it so effortlessly!

To be honest, I think removing the arch liner in this may be a faff as well.

Think I'll go for a newer 170, there is one fairly local with the bucket seats etc.

Good idea to go for a later one, and the seats are brilliant as well.

The 170 gets great reviews.
