Hi Andy.. Great work your doing on the car, (I would love to do something like that!)

I got the urge to quickly colour the cardboard in just to see what it would have looked like if you had kept the first design..

amazing what a difference colour makes... when I am back I am going to push to finish off the rear end so that I can see it in the flesh so to speak, I have been working on the front around the screen latelly while some new ideas were fresh in my mind.

Neal

I recently spotted your web pages from a link on the grabber scratch build site.... that does seem to be the only scratch build site and unfortunatelly it doesn't have much trafic at all.

I must admit I didn't look much further than the renderings and thought that the design lent itself well to fit an existing cobra chassis, was this your intention or do you plan a complete scratch build?

The side screens on mine are simply from a production road car in the UK... I made a cardboard mock up of what I needed and then went to a scrap yard to find a match. In fact I wasn't happy with my first match and had to redesign a huge amount when I picked the latest one.

Jon

I am sure I have spotted your project, am I correct that yours is the Nova thats being re-designed in CAD by adrenalin?

As for my latest.... well I have done no more except planning my fuel system and tank. I have done a cardboard mock up of the tank and decided to keep it to a sensible size (80litres) rather than ,ake it really complicated and go for the 100litres I originally planned.
It's heavily internally baffled with a centre pickup tank were the pumps (upgraded skyline) will sit and of cause it will be fully foam filled.
I still plan to run a swirl pot, however I wanted to design the tank so that I had the option of running straight from the tank.

OK so I have done a little work on the hard top for my GTT... I have also decided yet again to reshape the doors.

I've not finished making all the parts as the rear butress will be blended into the rear pannel, but here is a pic of it mocked up... My hope is for it to look as good with the roof on as it does with the roof off.

Well I have done little as late as family must come first.

Excluding labour its actually working out cheaper than the Ultima I previously built (that cost me just under £50k) and it is to a higher spec for example the chasis is made from T45 and tig welded etc etc... but of cause the extra labour effort is massive and the sheer size of the task often wears you down.

I pretty much have all the critical and costly components now with only really the shocks and paint as the biggies remaining.

Well thanks for the support good to know I have done something right in this life..... I'm just on a huge downer at the moment and I do hope that getting out in the garage may help my attitude and change my perspective.

Well me chin is comming up a bit.... still got no passion even for the car but I am sure it will come.

I will definatelly be doing track days in it... I did the Autocar 0-100-0 challenge a few years back in the Ultima I built (beat the zonda to 100mph and car was featured in the mag) so I am well into proving the car.

BTW I am an accountant!

Cheers... I will get moving on it soon, promise.
Just been getting my life back on track and been trying to get my other eveyday cars sorted as I had a small prang in the M3 over xmas and need to use it again now.

I do have some pictures, but they are poor quality and not worth posting.... I have started to make the new wishbones to replace the ones I sold and have bought a complete set of porsche 996 hubs/uprights so I can mock up another rolling chasis purelly to take the buck and will alow me to work both on the body and the chasis.

I know some may say I should concentrate on finishing one area, but that simply does not work for me and I like to flit around from job to job... just seems to keep my motivation and concentration higher than just slogging on with the same task.

I have some news and a little progress.

Firstly I registered some time ago some domain names and have just bought some web space so pretty soon my web site will be back up and running under these domains.

www.andygtt.co.uk
www.andygtt.com

just to clarify they are not up yet so the links wont work at the moment.

More importantly I have actually done some significant work on the car, I have made the door hinges.... this might sound small to some but the amount of design in both the shape of the door and the location and type of the hinge is not insignificant for a scissor door.

Fortunatelly all the earler planning has paid off and the door works without hitting even with small 3mm pannel gaps... cant really explain how releived I am as trying to visulise it all working in my head was doing my brain in lol
