Rollcage tubing turned up yesterday

It`s taken Weicher`s 8 weeks to decide they can only supply a rollcage for the coupe if it has a sunroof, mine hasn`t, so they cant supply one ???

Anyway, their price was £478 for a basic six point bolt in cage.

I`m now making my own using 1 3/4" for the main hoops and 1 1/2" for the ancillaries, cost of 12m 1 3/4" and 18m 1 1/2" CDS 2 .... £257
I know it`s put me back a bit, but at least I`ll have a custom cage to how I want it

How much longer (approximately) do you think it will take to complete?

I used to own a Astra Coupe and for the 2 1/2 years I had it, I didn't experience any problems.

The only thing I would say is, standard I found it to be quite dull but yours obviously doesn't look that way! I love the kit, colour and wheels, they work really well together.

Thats cool and a way better way of getting the cage you want IMO.... do you need any of the tubes rolled or is it all simple bends?

The tube from the bottom of the A pillar that will join the main hoop needs rolling, but we have a ring roller too, so no probs there either.

Good work Pete, it's looking fantastic..

Out of interest, is the car being built with anything in mind? motorsport etc, or is it more of a case of creating something interesting that's going to be a hoot to drive!

And a National Car Hire sticker to complete the look

Not a fan of the styling, but that conversion... eek That's some damn impresive metalwork!!!

looking good bow Bit wierd about the roll cage and the sunroof. Reminds me of the MSA and there rule that you cannot logbook a car with a sunroof. Strange.
