Cooool car Your skills are mighty!

Can't wait to see this in the flesh. Do you reckon it'll be done by April? If so get your name down for the VXR meets:

Should be "on the road" end of mar4ch, but I`m gonna debut it at PVS 07 in june.

It`s now on the 4 post ready to finish the zorst and fit the propshaft.
Please excuse the view of the loo

Looks like it's coming along nicely.

I just realised you replied to my "This is my Monaro" thread a while back asking a question about the interior. I had a look but one on the images is a broken link. I'm happy to help you figure out how the interior goes together if you want

I'm guessing it'll need a bit of chopping to fit in the narrower Astra?

Amazing Pete, how will the torque affect the shell? Any problems do you think?

I doubt the shell will flex as that is what the roll cage is there for....

so there is going to be a roof chop as well, very impressive.

Thanks Andy

No roof chop, that cross member looked more at home there than futher up, there`s a lot of windscreen, so it not restricting the vision.

Al, we`ve gone overkill on the chassis stregthening, I`m making 2 more underfloor subframe to chassis members today, to tie the back of the suframe to the main fore and aft chassis rails. (you can tell I`m a boatbuilder lol)

Looking good! Although it looks like there'll be no room for a foot rest next to the clutch pedal. Then again I'm guessing it's not going to be used as a motorway mile muncher :P

Is the plan to assemble everything, make sure it all fits together and then tear it down and paint the bare metal?

Having started but not finished a V8 locost project I'm full of admiration for this

Thanks Mackie

That`s the plan, as soon as the zorst is finished strip it all down, finish the fab work and welding, derust, etch prime, undercoat and paint, put it all back, do the fuel and brake lines, and then ........................ wire it eek
