Turbocharged v8's
Excuse my ignorance here, but what are those two silver boxes at the front of the engine for?
id guess charge coolers.... the Turbos are mounted inside the V...Excuse my ignorance here, but what are those two silver boxes at the front of the engine for?
Colder air in = more power.
I have to say the engine is an absolute monster. My dad has it in his M6 which is just absurdly rapid. My only criticism with it is that it doesn't sound good at all. For something to use for "fun", I much, MUCH preferred the S65B40 in his old E92 M3.
There is no denying in the slightest that the S63B44T0 is a much more potent power-plant though.

Not mentioning or picking on anyone in particular - my car's the same - but there's not a lot of engine on view these days is there? Lots of plastic covers and a few pipes.
Unfortunately gone are the days of chrome bits under the bonnet as Alfa used to have For a 4.4TT 562hp my engine looks particularly plasticy

Why do i have a suspicion the Holley probably "leaks" more fuel in just vapour from its float chambers than the average modern car uses in a week! ;-) If you put your nose close enough to that picture you can actually smell the hydrocarbons.........
