That Jag engine is just art, could sit n stroke that all day!!
Hi Witko999,
always had a soft spot for Avengers & Sunbeams.
What sort of power you hoping for?
Owned many a Sunbeam in the past, nothing stronger than a 1.6GLS though.
Don't know if it'll mean anything to ya or anybody else for that matter but my dad's got a Talbot Sunbeam Cheetah.
He's just had it restored, owned it from new.
For those not in the know, the Cheetah was a dealer special sold at Staghill motors & engineered by Andy Dawson (a famous rally man).
It was based on a 1.6GLS but had uprated suspension & wheels.
Came with an L.S.D axle & was fitted with what is known as the brazilian block engine taken out to 2litres.
Had 150BHP & 150ftlb torque, so same as the Lotus.
They only made 13 of them & my dad's is no.5.
Keep us informed with the Avenger build.

OK, here are mine:
First, the Firenza engine bay:
And next, the Sportshatch engine bay:
The eagle-eyed among you may spot that the engine bay on the hatch is empty, that's because the engine is out having a quick rebuild to try to stop it leaking as badly as it has for years. And because it doesn't start without half a can of 'easy-start' and I wanted to make sure nothing was amiss internally.
The more eagle-eyed will also have spotted that the four-branch manifold is missing a bit - that does explain why it was so noisy last time it ran.

Wow, a Sunbeam Cheetah. My Dad has a few old magazine articles about them at home. I would've liked to have started with a Brazilian engine for the turbo project but couldn't find one at the time. I'm hoping for somewhere around 200bhp with this one.Hi Witko999,
