Just found your thread and spent most of my lunch break reading it!!... its totally gutting as in Janurary i sold 2x E30 325's for a grand due to lack of space... Both were Genuine sports also... sigh.. nevermind i NEED to get myslf a track car!!
Someone got a bargain then. I'm thinking my next daily driver may be an E30 325 sport.DaveShark said:
Its looking the dogs now Benny!! Are you going to race it?
Nah, can't afford it really. Well we could could but the wives wouldn't be chuffed Seems like a waste to go so far with all the mods and not race her, but yeah im hearing the wife comment!! I was looking at the Kuhmo BMW championship site today, and well, you have every box ticked surely?? Just licence & fees I reckon. But yeah it cant be cheap to do a whole season with the travel, tyres and odd mis-hap!! But then just imagine plunging down Paddock Hill Bend with another car in your sights and one up ya chuff. Gotta be worth it?
Im struggling to find time to even start ripping out my seats, carpets and door panels at the moment. But I have started doing some livery doodles...

Last saw this thread back when it had just been stickered up, but not tested... Bloomin' marvelous to see the pics, and especially the vid of it finally at home on the track!
Great project, and just goes to show you can build a fantastic car without a huge wedge of money or loads of spannering experience!! Top work fellas!!!

We did a track day up at Oulton yesterday with Focused Events and Fast Ford Magazine http://pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
It was a great day out for us with the overheating problems seemingly behind us. We did over 150 miles yesterday and didn't go into the red once - which makes a change. After about 5 or 6 laps it does get a little warm but easing off for half a lap brings it back down to normal again. We need to put some of the fan shroud back on which will help further, and we think our mesh cover where the grille was may be restricting air - it was bowed in suggesting that it provides more air resistance than you would think. We reckon an oil cooler may be the way to go to, possibly with a bigger rad. For now though we're happy we can do a full day with no major issues We should have had a video of yesterday but I left the camcorder at home
Out again on 12/12 by which time we should have stickers re-applied to the new boot, and maybe some metal cut from the inside of the doors to save weight. Speaking of which we weighed the car on Oulton's weigh bridge yesterday and it came in at 1177 kg with half a tank of fuel, so about 1145 kg dry. Pretty good
Not sure where this photo is - possibly just after Warwick Bridge?

My alfa will probably be a trac weapon in the future aswell, unfortunately it wont be me that does it though, she gets sold tomorrow
Shame. Saw a lovely looking Alfa race car for sale in the back of this months Octane magazine. No idea what it was as I know fk all about Alfa's, but it looked smart and seemed a reasonable price at £8K.sniff diesel said:
How did you go about getting it weighed then?
We went down to the shop at the end of the paddock to buy a funnel for putting fuel in. Got chatting to the guy working there and Mike asked him if it would be OK to stick it on their scales in the scrutineering shed - which he was happy to let us do benny.c said:
