Prior to this trip I had only done 11.5 laps this year and none of them at full power so
my driving is a bit rusty

Hope to put in some more laps soon & get it more smooth.

Here is the video of my first sub 8 minute lap last weekend at the Ring:

http://www.rngtoy.com/thordur/almennt/Eurotour2008...

As you can see this lap was rather slow to begin with - had
just finished a 11:47 and 8:34 warmup laps after showing up
at the Ring entrance 8:15 Sunday morning biggrin
After Hatzenbach I started to drive faster since I realized that
with this little traffic it could be a fast lap.

The car is running very nicely. Had a minor problem with boostleak on the first
day of the trip. Turned out to be the hose from supercharger to the watercooled
intake had become loose (hoseclamp slid off). After that all was well smile

Blimey, how come i have never read this thread.

I recognised the car straight away, you were at the ring same weekend as us recently on 20th sep, as you were parked next to our cars in the blaue ecke guesthouse. This thread has just settled a long argument as my mates were sayign was turbo'd and bet supercharged, looks liek we both got the actual engine wrong though....lol as we had M3.

We were in the Mini and Project Volvo which you can;t have missed. Mat Black and orange wheels. On its first trip after 100 quid purchase and being stripped and turbo'd hopefully as i type.

Great looking car that beemer really is nice.

Here is a pic from my last trip:

... and some more videos smile

First there is a 8:25 lap, reving some more than in the lap I already posted,
lots of traffic (pcars in the way biggrin ) and construction again:
http://www.onno.is/thordur/almennt/Eurotour2008_4_...

Second one is where I´m minding my own business - warming up the car when some
E190's & a Lotus blast by.... then I just realized the car was up to temp and some
serious suprising was in order biggrin
http://www.onno.is/thordur/almennt/Eurotour2008_4_...

The third is when I am on the tail of a new E92 M3 driven by some japanese
guys (a lot of those that weekend!):
http://www.onno.is/thordur/almennt/Eurotour2008_4_...

Finally a clip in torrential rain - 500hp, rwd and semislicks eek

PS. Heel'n toe not yet perfected..... whistle

mate, you are totally barking mad and i absolutely love your project. how much did you spend on your little runner so far? must have cost you quite a bit. seemed to have paid off, tho. i just watched your lap at the 'ring and as far as i could tell you haven't even been overtaken once. keep up the good work.

Haven´t added the invoices up - not going to smile

I do get overtaken at the Ring, there is some serious
machinery there driven by very capable people wink

so far i was only ever planning on modifying my m52b28 engine. after adding up all the costs of achieving 260+ bhp i decided i'd better be looking out for a decent s50b32 to plant into my e36 touring. oh yes, you read right, it's gonna be a m3 touring. seems cheaper and faster than going through the painstaking process of ripping the whole thing apart and rebuilding a whole engine from scratch. also i don't think i'll be supercharing it. it'll still be good enough to scare the living st out of some porsche drivers and leave gti's for dead. in an estate. oh yes.

I have the original E30 M3 3.25 diff. Don´t think I would like
a higher ratio - the back straight is long smile
