This project is pretty much on hold while I rebuild the S62 in the M5. Cannot feed 2 of those "moneytoilets" at the same time wink

However, did pick up a metal oil pan for the DCT because it was on sale, would have lost money otherwise.....

Wheels finally here in Iceland. Always a bit stressed when buying something like this from a private party, is it a scam, etc. But... arrived just like advertised, looking spectacular (well at least the one box I opened to put next to the car).

As the eagle eyed of you can see this is exactly the right time to buy wheels given the state of the car but.... smile
Think these will look awesome on the car once it is completed!

Awesome project, this thing will be an absolute weapon once done cool Could even be classified as the 'sensible thing' to do given the daft prices people are charging for S14s and associated parts nowadays!
Sensible is not a word I have heard used for this project before smile

I like it!!!

But it is the most current NA, high rev, high power, attainable powerplant from BMW.

Will sound glorious and have 550+ hp.

Ok, project finally starting again.

Went on hold for 4 years while I rebuilt my E39 M5 after the S62 ate a spark plug.

So last weekend I started to dig the M3 out.... had been used as storage for all kinds of crap for 4 years. Unbelievable how much stuff fits in an E30 smile

Next step is to remove everything from the shell and media blast the bottom and firewall. Repair rust and then start building up.

Some pics from 4 years ago from the fabricator that show how far we got then:

Steadily aquiring the parts "needed" for the build.

Just got a package - 5.3kg flywheel, the engine will rev like a bike smile
