NZ made Hyper Car

Very nice!
Did the bodyshell (particulalry the rear tub) ever owe anything to the Sylva Striker Clubmans, or is the similarity purely coincidental?
What's the screen made out of? If it's polycarbonate, it'll be interesting to see how it stands up to the sort of aerodynamic pressures that engine ought to be able to impose on it!
Are you planning series production?

Great work, good to see a fellow kiwi showing the world how we do things down here
I've got a Lotus 7 that I thought I'd done pretty well on, rebuilding new body, bonnet etc....but now ive seen this it makes mine look lame....
I'd love to see it going in anger...
looks wise I think id prefer a smaller set of aeroscreens like on the Caterham R500 etc.
Someone mentioned the intakes in front of the screen, there will be a dead spot/low pressure of air there which will lead to issues with the injection at speed! but thats just an excuse to make some fancy carbon inlets from the front scooping up around the sides of the motor to the air box on top, all snake like!
Keep up the good work and keep us informed of its first shake down runs.....PLEASE

I had many styling ques used from Corvettes,TVR alot,Viper, Jaguar and a little from an old stryker clubman.I liked the little upswept tail but modelled the rear quarters so it feels like my wifes butt. Natuarlly her arse ain't the size of the whole back of the car but the quarter definately feels like a cheek.
Windscreen is definately laminated glass, its the only way we can get it road legal, a future goal(not cheap $3200nz).
I didnt keep a build diary cause I'm a machinist not a novelist but I'll have some dash and interior shots in the next few days.
Dyno run- search Synergy 2400 or Simon Longdill - on you tube. sounds great!!!
Back to the shed for me

Synergy 2400 V8 Engine Preliminary TestinghyperDSN390 said:
After 3.5 years toiling away in my tin shed, out on the farm, I have nearly completed my first car.
I am a CNC machinist by day, car builder the rest of the time.
I have machined all the suspension components from T6061 aliuminium. The engine is also billet, having used two ZX12R cyclinders to create a 2.4ltr V8- Synergy 2400.390hp @10500rpm.A friend Simon Longdill designed it. check out the dyno run on you tube.
The chassis is round tube, tig welded, with ali panels bonded to the exterior of the chassis.
I have a full composite body, where the whole front comes of to assist race preparation. It looks a little like a TVR.
I am on the down hill slope to the finish now having to complete the six speed sequential gearbox to finish our driveline.
The final weght should be around 600kgs. A little flabbier than the new V8 Arial Atom.
Has anyone info on that car??
I call my car DSN390- Don't Stop Now,something I muttered many a late night wondering how I got myself into all this. 390 hp-reasons to keep doing it.
Are there many others out there spending their lives scratching their hair out doing everything themselves?
We in this part of the world don't have the fantastic infastructure for car builders like our european nations so just, diy.
Thats a little about me and my car, heres some pics
