My dad took a test drive in one before he bought his M3. I'll never forget sitting in the back of the car with an exhaust note like a NASCAR being hurled towards the horizon reclining in total comfort. Great cars and will rightly be remembered as a classic.

Thanks to all for the kind comments.

It is indeed a fine car, by a significant margain the most all rounded I have ever owned.
One minute I am commuting in the most vile and repugnant conditions this side of Siberia, the next I am on a windy backroad in Germany. In both it copes admirably. I recently took the in-laws away for a night and it swallowed them and their luggage with ease. It has all creature comforts you could reasonably expect and is quiet, serene and unassuming.
I average 19mpg or so and thus far have had no major failures. The interior, with care has lasted so well there is not a tear, crease, scratch or stain on anything. It is probably the last M car that can have its 'regular' problems fixed DIY. By that I mean, the sensors are monitored by a tight tolerance of levels. I bought a Peake reader to determine which one, be it, CPS, MAF, O2 sensor etc that it kaput. Change it, reset it and job done. No software updates etc that keeps me tied to the dealership, it is constantly tuning itself with its plethora of sensors.

If you are interested in getting one, and are ready for the commitment, I would be more than happy to answer specific questions.

Now its just a matter of perfecting perfection with some AP brakes and a Milltek exhaust biggrin
