Cheers Stew - you still got the lotus? I am loving those exiges right now! biggrin

Anyway a few updates from yesterday. I was out trying to buy a van all day (for work etc and to get about as I have no transport since loosing my job) so I didn't get back until late and it was damp and getting dark and haggard, so you'll have to excuse the turd pics! I finished off the graphics though, and went about moving that little cable to the handbrake sensor up behind the dash as it won't work with the STACK anyways. Also have a few little jobs to do in the bay but didn't have time for that!

Here are the pics anyway - like I said, nil point for photography this time! biggrin

Graphics on:

Bay:

Fan:

Interior (flash used as it was so dark so it looks awful!) I fitted a little cover to the steering wheel to tidy it up and make it look more OE:

That's all for now!

Cheers Guys! smile

A few more updates tonight. Finished off the graphics, sorted that little air bubble out (it's now gone and looks mint), fitted my hose clamps on the hoses to the oil catch tank, whipped out the handbrake wiring as it wasn't needed anymore, and swapped some of the big ignorant cable ties in the bay for some smaller neater types (they look less noticeable too!)

Here's the snaps anyways.

Air Bubble in question (now removed):

Front Side graphics complete:

Handbrake Cabling removed:

Oil Catch Tank Hose Clamps complete (I am going to change them all to silver as they don't do them in a black finish and they don't do colours anymore either!) I think the silver one's look neat and non chavvy anyways:

Pic of the Oil Cooler and Fan set up:

Smaller Cable Ties:

Engine as a whole:

That's all for now!

Just wondering if you've fitted thicker TBs and ARBs?

I can see that the front has been dropped and stiffened, have you just dropped the back a spline or two and left it alone - can't see any mention of TBs previously and it would be a shame not to take the chance to do the whole job properly!

I put stiffer springs in my 205 and left the rear standard and although it got a lot more pointy the balance was much more understeery at the limit, not like it should be! Thicker TBs/ARBs at the back have tightened it right up and made it much more fun to drive....

Hi, yes it has 21mm torsion bars (suited to the front springs) and a more narrow ARB - this is recommended by Colin Satchel, an expert with the geometry on these cars so I question it not! biggrin

Fantastic motor, I would be very proud. Would think twice about trying to chase this down a twisty road!

thanks lads - she should go well once she's ready alright! biggrin

Few more updates today. Obviously I don't have lots of spare cash at the moment so i've been doing all the small jobs i've been meaning to do for a while. Mainly removing the rest of the unwanted/un-sightly studs and brackets in the engine bay. Especially the bonnet prop one - god knows why they fit these on a 106 as you have gas struts so it's not needed....still!

I also bolted my battery bracket in properly as I took it out to get it powder coated black, but it was so fiddly to bolt in again i've only just gotten aroun to doing it! Pleased with the results though so far - just needs a lick of paint on the strut top and the bay is almost done. I still have a few hose retainers to swap over, and I would like a black oil cooler instead but that's on the long finger now I have no dosh! frown

Here are some pics anyway:

Area masked off for stud grinding with the dremmel (SUCH a great tool):

Gone:

The 'obnoxious' bonnet prop bracket (looks so messy) - it was an arse to remove to in such a confined space:

Getting there:

Gone:

Then I noticed another one at the back annoying me!

I don't have a pic of it removed but it's gone now! I also touched up the areas I ground down too of course. I'll get some pics today.

Here's the battery holder - looks much nicer in black!

That's it for now.

Few more updates today - touched up those areas where I ground off the studs, and fitted my new black gear knob. It does look a lot better in the blue cabin I will say. My white one will be for sale too now if anyone's interested smile

Cheers guys - I just enjoy all the little touches and detail. I kinda ponder it over in my mind and just come up with little things to 'finish it off' so to speak. Maybe I don't have enough to worry about! biggrin

I got the gearknob somewhere online, i'm sorry I can't remember where exactly now....

Sprayed the Quick Shift with the final coat today - excuse the terrible pics they are phone pics. The finish is pretty damn smooth, i'll get some good pics tomorrow with my camera:

I don't think so!

It still needs an exhaust to be driveable, and as I recently lost my job that will have to wait for a while....

Few more updates tonight anyway.

I actually did a lot of small jobs tonight but alas I forgot my camera again, and my phone was low on battery and it would only take a few snaps!

Basically I fitted all my new silver hose clamps from Earls, fitted a new piece of carbon over the rear seat belt bracket area as Bob removing every single piece of wiring so had to get a new peice of carbon without a hole in for wiring! I also fitted the new black quickshift. Looks pretty nice I think. I will put some pics of it fitted up in a few days. I also had some carbon off Streamline (Bic) for the speaker holes so I will fit that over the weekend. Really pleased with how she's shaping up now!

Here are the pics of the quickshift anyway (again turd phone pics). The finish is pretty damn smooth, although the paint isn't hugely robust despite the fact it's meant to be chip proof etc...never mind. If it starts to flake i'll polish it again!

More pics soon!

Looking forward to seeing it finished smile
