Long range auxillary fuel tank mounted in boot, extra 20L taking total to 110L, yes thats over £120 a fill up
It's been so long since you wrote this, you'd now be looking at £150 per fill (if you were using the long range tank, which you're not).

Imagine what it'll cost when it's finished wink
Is this what's holding you back?? I mean, its something we can talk about. Get it out in the open. Always better to talk about these things. The you'll have closure and move on with your life...and this car. Like you I've got married and had 2 children since you started this thread.

Holy sh*t. Is this the longest-running project in PH history? Almost 7 years and counting to do an engine swap is pretty impressive stuff!

Came here looking for some nice alpina pics (the originals no longer display), saw a lovely 7 series and not alot else although throughly enjoyed the occassional bump, all in the original PH spirit!

I have; got engaged, got married, had two children, now 2 and 3 and bought a house since this thread first started.

All good reasons why projects go off the boil, so perfectly understandable.

I shall un-bookmark this thread and move on ;-)

Engine is in, most of the electrics are done, it just needs front suspension and brakes putting on and finishing the electrics.

Problem is it just sits there for week after week, I don't have time to visit the car, and the bloke is a mate which makes things difficult. He's also good with electronics and knows alpinas very well, I would like to move the car but struggle to find anyone who knows these as well or is willing to take on the project.

Suspension and brakes are nothing complex are they? Get the electrics done then finish the rest at home.

Thats the problem, its the electrics that are not getting done, nothing is really getting done.

Bravo. This looks like a project well worth seeing through to completion. I don't really think your "mate" was giving you a terribly fair deal if it has taken him so long to do so little.
